We are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight, in what appears to be an act of vandalism.

We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited.

We are working with our partners to understand what has happened and what can be done.

The incident has also been reported to the police.

🚨 The clock is ticking for nature in the UK 🚨

We’re losing precious species & habitats across the nation. 1,781 species are threatened with extinction across the UK & only 14% of our wildlife habitats are in good condition. We’re one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth.

However, we CAN reverse this together. We have the solutions, and with strong government leadership & urgent action, we could see our habitats restored & wildlife thriving once again. But our politicians must act now. #NatureCantWait. #WeCantWait.

This creates a different kind of problem

1/3 - The use of #PalmOil is a complex issue to contend with, especially given he fact that it's in over 50% of items you put in your supermarket trolley🛒

But surely if its use can be so damaging to wildlife, the answer is simply to use an alternative?
