First reactions for #Supergirl are praising leading star Milly Alcock and the movie for shifting James Gunn’s DC world into “Mad Max” territory:
“It isn’t a classic but it’s fun and hits most of the targets it aims for. Milly Alcock is great as the titular heroine and Momoa’s Lobo is a blast. Other big wins are the action, humor and when it leans into physical production.”
Another journalist said the movie “looks and plays more like a ‘Mad Max’ movie, with dirty worlds, gross villains and a self destructive hero."

@WhitneyPuppy For real. I genuinely thought it was so obvious that the "I Believe" scene wasn't just all of them being delusional. It's straight up signaling that it's probably the truth.
(I also immediately had questions when shorty Instant Transmissioned from the truck to the gate.)
I saw “Supergirl” in IMAX. It wasn’t a “superhero movie” about saving the Earth through self-sacrifice as “justice” confronts “evil.” It was a coming-of-age story about saving oneself, Kara, as she struggles with her own trauma. Structurally, it feels less like “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015), where everyone is driven purely by survival instinct beyond notions of good and evil, and more like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), where heroes, villains, and scoundrels all converge.
Craig Gillespie credits James Gunn with helping to choose the final needle drop for ‘SUPERGIRL’.
It was chosen in the final week of editing after trying 45 different songs.

@ForbesSator@lasthomewrecker Ok. And who has been promoted as the "Creative Mind" behind the DCU?....James Gunn. James offers input.
It's hard to explain why saying "Well, James didn't direct it. So.🤷🏾♂️" is a lazy perspective in 240, but it's clear this song choice is inspired by what Clark instills in her.
I remember the first ever issue I picked up 27 years ago. I used to live tweet the show. I’ve been around the block AND spun the block for Kara.
All I really have to say is the second they said “Woman of Tomorrow”. That movie should’ve had color grading like Project Hail Mary.
So. What have we learned. Some spent the entirety of Gunn’s first couple years bringing up Snyder movies unprompted and antagonizing people who liked them making claims of “cultist behaviors”
…this movie now has the same score as Man of Steel. AGAIN. This was the initial score.
Suddenly, it’s “the hate seems forced” from film critics?, “who actually cares about critics tho?”…y’all did when you thought it won you arguments, “this is because they’re out of touch look at the audience score.” the same audience that has a vested interest in it’s success????
@KatLink I’m genuinely so upset with myself by how loud I just laughed as this man jumped through the air, landed on his face, and got smacked by a licker in the span of 3 seconds.
Droopy Don sitting there with a blank stare while this old fuck from Texas spouts literal bullshit.
"It doesn't explicitly say the phrase in the constitution so it's not real"
Motherfucker, are you stupid? How do you have your job? What are you being paid for?
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson on the November 2026 midterm elections:
“If we were to lose the midterms, these Democrats will turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body. They’ll go after the president's family, the cabinet, his donors, friends, half of you in this room will be targeted.”
🚨 Republican Speaker Mike Johnson has been credibly accused of illegally using campaign funds to pay his rent.
His office claims this allegation is part of a radical leftist conspiracy.
@VolgareT@TheJFreakinC@hasanthehun@KatBehar Saying this in response to an example that openly exposes Texan republicans exhibiting such a blatant bias that pedophiles can get away with wrist slaps is such a deeply embarrassing self own.
@Th3birdman15@MeidasTouch I can’t believe I scrolled through every single response to you and all these niggas are either bots or just dumb.
I mean…what’s the difference tbh.
My favorite part about this is that the closest I’ve ever seen to legitimate terrorism in Virginia was white men in khakis roaming the streets with tiki torches and chanting nazi epithets…then one of them literally drove a car into a crowd of people the following afternoon. 🙂
The logline & trailer for Jonathan Majors' new film for The Daily Wire has been revealed:
“When radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal college’s pro-Palestine encampment to enforce Sharia law on students, a ragtag band of red-blooded students, a security guard tired of ‘Uncle Tom’ smears & a Delta Force vet must arm up to save their clueless peers & keep America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil.”
