Meet Heather Odum Brunton. This home caregiver decided it was a good idea to post a vile video mocking one year since Charlie Kirk was assassinated. She dances around making shot-to-the-neck gestures for what she calls her playlist for a “kirkaversary party.” In another clip she lip-syncs about the drinks she’s going to have to celebrate his death.

What’s even more shocking is that she’s a widow who lost her own husband to a drug overdose and regularly posts about grieving him. Yet here she is dancing and mocking the murder of someone else’s husband and father, a man killed in an act of political violence.

For someone who went through a horrible personal loss and whose job is supposed to be providing emotional and physical support to vulnerable people, this is a special kind of ugly. The lack of basic human decency is staggering. You don’t get to wrap yourself in grief when it suits you and then treat another family’s tragedy like a party theme.
