According to the BCCDC, there has never been a positive case of #Lyme disease in the northern part of the province. But advocates say the belief that it doesn't exist here is both dangerous and self-perpetuating. My latest for @TheTyee. https://t.co/1seJhxPQMO
The chemical, nootkatone is an oil found in cedar trees and grapefruits. It's so safe that it is used by the food and perfume industries. “If you drink Fresca or Squirt, you’ve drunk nootkatone...” https://t.co/6S64eU3NSQ
Why does the standard Lyme Disease antibody test yield many false negatives?
The ELISA test has the issues below, plus the fact that it measures the antibodies for only ONE of the 300 strains.

#LymeThought - I believe that there is a % of the population that have unrecognized, undiagnosed, less acute #Lyme that stumble through life attempting to manage with lifestyle, diet, mindset change. Wouldn’t it be better if they knew & managed their condition more intentionally?
#LymeThought - #Lyme should reset what you consider normal. Trying to improve is a worthy goal. Fighting or ignoring your new normal will only result in punishment for yourself and those around you. To those who I love, I am sorry for the pain.
#LymeThought - #Lyme doesn’t generally kill you. It’s the tag team of co-infections/co-conditions and what that combined misery makes you susceptible to that will likely kill a #LymeDisease sufferer in the end.
“They are taking over the reins as the number one vector of pathogens to humans. And that’s only changed in the last twenty years.” https://t.co/ifWoFVAtGw

Why aren’t 🇨🇦 #Lyme advocates making a bigger deal about the fact that both provincial & federal gov’t call for better #LymeTesting in the Ontario Lyme Task Force & the Federal Lyme Framework?
“It is recognized that specific and more sensitive tests for Lyme disease are needed”
"It's really refreshing when you see scientists from outside fields asking each other questions. Unafraid to admit they don’t know it all. Open to learning. These collaborations are what I believe is going solve the mystery of chronic illness." @LonnieRhea https://t.co/hnhu25UEZv
