Today, Her Excellency @EtsegenetYimenu paid a visit to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (@mkainerugaba), the Chief of Defense Forces of the Republic of Uganda, at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral and regional matters. They also exchanged views on how to strengthen further the existing strong bilateral relations, which serve as anchors of regional stability.

Her Excellency Ambassador Etsegenet expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm reception and echoed the sentiments of solidarity. H.E. also briefed on the recently concluded elections in Ethiopia & she conveyed her sincere gratitude to H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda for his congratulatory message.

The successful completion of Phase I marks the largest Government-led overseas evacuation operations ever undertaken by @GovUganda, with 1,102 Ugandan nationals safely repatriated from South Africa through six coordinated evacuation flights.

The operation brought together multiple Government institutions, including @UgandaMFA, @UgEmbassySA, UPDF, @UG_Airlines and other partners in a whole-of-government response to protect Ugandan citizens affected by the unrest.

Today, I passed out 11,947 UPDF recruits, including 1,002 from the Central African Republic (CAR), at Kaweweta. I congratulated them and reminded them that discipline, integrity, good health and rigorous training are the foundation of a capable army. Defence Minister Kiryowa Kiwanuka Meets UK Counterpart in London

The Minister of Defence and Veteran affairs Hon Kiwanuka Kiryowa who is currently in the United Kingdom yesterday visited his counterpart at the White House Defence Headquarters main building, London. He met a high level delegation led by the UK Minister of State for Defence Diplomacy Lord Coaker. The two Ministers discussed how to deepen military cooperation, regional security and capacity building.

The engagements between the two ministers underscored a shared commitment to advancing strategic United Kingdom-Uganda defence partnerships.
Minister Kiryowa extended an invitation to the Minister Lord Coaker to visit Uganda in the near future. The Ugandan Defence Minister was accompanied to the meeting by Uganda's High Commissioner to the UK H.E Nimisha Madhivani and Brig General Geoffrey Karugaba, the Defence Advisor at the Uganda High commission in London.
