Every flight ticket out of a Nigerian airport includes a Passenger Service Charge (PSC), typically around ₦2,000 for domestic flights and up to $100 for international flights.
Passengers are literally paying for functioning conveyor belts, cooling systems, and clean restrooms.
So yes, 'rushing to social media' is well within their rights.
The @officialEFCC has become a joke, reduced to carrying out the @officialabat's wishes of rather than functioning as an independent financial crimes agency.
If the President can simply direct it to do his bidding, then its independence exists only on paper.
C'est fini! #RevolutionNOW
I have followed with deep concern the developments surrounding the reported freezing of the bank accounts of the Osun State Government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), coming just days before the governorship election.
Let me reiterate that I have always supported a relentless fight against corruption. However, that fight must never become a tool for political intimidation or the suppression of democracy. No institution, however important, should be used in a manner that creates the impression of influencing the electoral process.
The timing of this action raises legitimate questions. If investigations had been ongoing for months, why take such a drastic step on the eve of an election? In a democracy, institutions must not only be impartial but must also be seen to be impartial.
What is increasingly troubling is the growing perception that state institutions are being deployed to achieve political ends and secure power at all costs. This is dangerous for our democracy. Governments come and go, but once institutions lose their independence and credibility, the nation suffers.
If there is evidence of wrongdoing, the Constitution provides a clear path: seek the appropriate orders from a competent court. Due process is the foundation of justice. No agency should exercise powers beyond those granted by law.
I call on all relevant authorities to act strictly within the Constitution and ensure that nothing undermines the credibility of the Osun Governorship Election. The people of Osun must be allowed to freely determine their future through the ballot, without intimidation or institutional interference.
Nigeria’s democracy was built on sacrifice. We must not allow it to be weakened by the misuse of institutions or the pursuit of political advantage.

AUGUST 15 ELECTION IS NOT JUST ABOUT WINNING, IT IS TO SEND A STRONG MESSAGE TO APC ON THE IMPORTANCE OF RESPECTING THE PEOPLE.
On numerous occasions, Oyetola and Oyebamiji have used their influence within the ruling party at the federal level to punish the people of Osun State simply because they chose to vote for us in 2022.
Their actions have targeted the welfare of our workers and threatened the livelihoods of our civil servants, traders, artisans, and ordinary citizens.
That is why the August 15 election is more than just winning. It is about securing a decisive victory that sends a clear and unmistakable message to the APC: the people of Osun State must always be respected, their democratic choice must be honoured, and no one should ever seek to punish them for exercising their constitutional right to vote.
On this day, 90 years ago, FC Barcelona president Josep Sunyol i Garriga was murdered by Francoist troops in the Sierra de Guadarrama https://t.co/exmQJ8vVon
What is happening in Osun is totally unfair. First, they started paying LGA chairmen directly without recourse to the law that states clearly that it’s a state joint account, now they are freezing accounts by fiat. This federal overreach is setting a dangerous precedent.
199 - Nigeria have scored 199 goals in CAF Women's AFCON history, at least 103 more than any other nation in the competition (South Africa, 96).
Unrivalled.🇳🇬

You post about how 42 students are still in captivity in Borno, and one agbaya comes from nowhere to tell you "..cry till tomorrow it's Tinubu till 2031..."
Imagine calling palliatives to civil servants bribe for their votes, I hope the civil servants come out fully to vote for the Governor.
Such stupidity!!
