I've been reading my bible for years, not consistently but still, how did I never notice it was beautifully poetic? The book of Nahum got me gasping for air.
I could take writing lessons from this.
Last month, my "LOCK IN" journey began, spearheaded by my acquisition of a laptop. Having a device that I could learn a profitable skill with has always been a dream.
Though, I have to admit that it's been a much more underwhelming experience than I expected.
Last week was quite productive. I've learned more about things I've never actually been curious about until now.
Here's some of the knowledge I've gained so far.
Thanks to the CCHUB for making this opportunity accessible.

Yesterday was it for me and I'm not quite out of the hole yet but I'm still crawling. I haven't lain on my back at the bottom and said, " I AM DONE." I'll get out of this with God's help.
DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?
At one point, everything comes together and it makes sense. The math is mathing and you're not scratching your head looking for an excuse to escape. You feel motivated for the first time in a while and everything becomes possible...
And then, it just ends. Now, you're back to the familiar cold, negative, depressing side of you that you hate so much but can't be free from...for now.
I learnt that graphics design did not begin with the digital form as we know it. Across years of development and innovation, it has only ever been about one thing and that is to clearly and effectively communicate or translate an idea using visual imagery.
WHAT I LEARNT IN THE FIRST LESSON AT CCHUB'S GATEWAY PROGRAM
First off, the meaning of graphics design. I already had an idea of what graphics design entailed but something that I thought was new was how much history was behind it.
From prehistoric pictures drawn into walls to Egyptian hieroglyphs and the era of printing press to the boom of advertising mediums and modern design styles like the Swiss and Bauhaus and then to digital design.
Being consistent is hard. It's hard to stay motivated and keep showing up. But I've learnt that motivation isn't the key. It helps but discipline is the real game changer. The courage to keep going regardless of everything.
