@GlendaP1234 I used resources from the Digital Inquiry Group (formerly SHEG) https://t.co/5EaxOXRPNs You have to make a free account, but their resources are really good. I don't sell anything; I'm happy to share things for free!
Incorporating an #eduprotocols "Thick Slide" into our SAC over the use of atomic weapons in WWII. I think it'll produce deeper analysis during the class discussion. https://t.co/qlkvlHK2r9 https://t.co/q8cNU0Eqgw
@historysandoval I gave choices but were pre-made assignments. I wanted to leave it open to interpretation like yours, but this year's group needed a lot of guidance. I might try to find a way to combine both this year!
@historysandoval A lot of buy in at the beginning of the year & right before the end of the semester. Some clearly did the XC to get the points, but some really got into the assignments, which seemed to boost their participation in class & help them connect to the aligned units.
#teachersoftwitter, please keep sharing! Kicking off WWII this week w/a couple ideas I combined from @JillWebs and @MsGreeneEdu https://t.co/y0hj4ydWtj. Primary Source analysis over the causes of WWII and a "Caption This..." using political cartoons. #sschat#moedchat#ksedchat
Exploring Germany between WWI-WWII through QFT "Battle Royale" @MeehanEDU@RightQuestion and slides I created using @facinghistory materials on the Weimar Republic (https://t.co/ZYVqv7dPZq). High engagement & great student discussion! #sschat#moedchat
I try to take time off devices during testing season. We went paper-based #Eduprotocols today. "Wicked Hydra" on images that reappeared during notes, notes, Frayer Model, 3X CER, & a little "Great American Race". Thanks @moler3031 & @scottmpetri! https://t.co/4KnZw7tYkc
Good evening #mcss2024! If you're looking for a @MoSocialStudies session Saturday morning, you're invited to join me to discuss #eduprotocols. 9:30 in Kansas C.
They made notes on the suspect, connecting them to the Ind. Rev. & the task before receiving the next task. At the end, students made a mind-map that included results of the Ind. Rev., how those effected White Chapel, how "Jack" exploited them, & reforms made after the murders.
A bloody good time today in World History Honors. Students used their knowledge about the Ind. Rev. to hunt down Jack the Ripper. #tlap#moedchat#sschat
Each team got a clue tracking sheet on which to complete their task (https://t.co/HXeXyVQq7W) and 6 tasks (https://t.co/xVNLNFEWuY). After each task, they called me over to check their work and received a "Suspect".
Using new curriculum/resources for US government this year and HOT TAKE WARNING: fill in the blank notes are just bad pedagogical practice, right? I'm making a key & picturing how these will fail my students. Anybody found a way to improve these? #ksedchat#moedchat#eduprotocols
One thing APWH will work on this year is taking good notes and actually using them. Ss covered River Civilizations yesterday & will review/improve their classmates' notes through the #eduprotocols "Nacho Notes". https://t.co/1ZWwK1dfRI #moedchat#apwh
Met my 1st group of World History Honors kids today and introduced the class through a "Mini-Playlist" (https://t.co/QMGw0DuePo) Thanks to @historysandoval for the template! #moedchat#teachersoftwitter
First day of the 23-24 school year done! Gov't classes did a "Syllabus Breakout" & responded to a natural disaster; learned about my APWH kids w/stations (https://t.co/VsgR1tr4Jf). A lot of asking student expectations/experiences instead of telling!
