Imagine a creature with no eyes that doesn't eat anything, but gets its energy from bacteria inside its body. That's the scaly-foot snail. 🐌
Though they have symbolic mouth, evolution has left their mouth and digestive system completely useless as adults. they absorb toxic chemicals from underwater volcanic waste through their gills to feed a colony of bacteria in their throat gland. In return, the bacteria release sugar and nutrients for the snail!
Another interesting fact: because their shells are made of actual iron minerals, these snails are magnetic and will physically stick to a real magnet.
@Ashungar@MineArtsNCrafts@AMAZlNGNATURE Could had ex-wings like modern cassowary or kiwi bird. Was aslo very closer winged maniraptorans/modern birds than other theropods like spinosaurs and t-rex ancestors like guanlong had hands very similar early winged birds
@ildarotyrannus@AshleyPalaeo But there are not valid reason to continue to have hands so long when all full flightless birds/oviraptorids/therizinosaurids/ornithomimids have hands reduction
Example: Oksoko Is an small oviraptorid that had floffy wings like ostriches cause had very reduced hands
@ildarotyrannus@AshleyPalaeo But ostriches have proportionally extrememely short hands. Gigantoraptor very long. Fossil and anatomy compared with modern birds show that size and aerodynamic wings depend from hands proportions.
