@titiniestaxxx@ZeezMorgan@_Abou_bakr "don't you think you're foolish to want to bring a foreign law to a land that has its own culture, rules and law?" Does this imply that our founding fathers were foolish for introducing the English Law in several West African communities?
The claim that the terrorists demanded the implementation of Shari’ah Law in Oyo State as one of their conditions for releasing hostages remains unconfirmed by any credible source. It appears to be yet another piece of propaganda peddled by Islamophobes in Yorubaland, designed to smear Muslims and undermine the unalienable rights of Yoruba Muslims to freedom of thought, association, and religion as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The allegation is not only dubious but self-contradictory. Terrorists who engage in heinous crimes such as banditry and highway robbery, offences that attract the severest punishments under Shari’ah, could hardly be the ones calling for its implementation. Under Islamic law, the crime of *hirabah* (waging war against society through banditry, terrorism, or spreading corruption) carries grave penalties, including public execution by crucifixion in extreme cases.
Almighty Allah says in Qur’an 5: 33 – Surah Al-Ma’idah:
“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.”
(English Translation by Sahih International)
This verse specifically addresses *hirabah*, violent crimes such as highway robbery, terrorism, and societal corruption. Classical Islamic scholars have always treated the punishments as judicial options, to be applied according to the gravity of the offence.
How I wish Shari’ah were already fully operational in our justice system so these criminals could be tried and punished accordingly! In Saudi Arabia, where Shari’ah forms 100% of the legal framework, the Ministry of Interior had carried out 68 executions by June 2026, at least nine of them for terrorism-related offences. Yet in Nigeria, rather than decisively punishing captured terrorists, we talk of “rehabilitation” and “reintegration” into the very society they have devastated.
Yoruba Muslims do not need any outsider, least of all Fulani terrorists, to agitate for Shari’ah in their homeland. Shari’ah is already an integral part of our daily lives. We observe it when we pray in our mosques, solemnise our marriages according to Islamic rites, distribute inheritance according to Qur’anic principles, and settle disputes through Independent Shari’ah Arbitration Panels that exist in virtually every state in Yorubaland. These panels have provided immense relief to the regular courts by resolving thousands of family and civil matters. Even the Lagos State Government has designated a Customary Court to adjudicate family disputes between Muslims according to Shari’ah.
Therefore, any legitimate call for the full establishment of Shari’ah Courts, by activating the provisions of Section 275 of the Constitution, has nothing whatsoever to do with criminality or terrorism. Yoruba Muslims will never allow bandits or propagandists to hijack our genuine religious aspirations to justify their crimes against innocent Nigerians, Muslims included.
Yoruba Muslims have always defended their land, even when invaders disguised their aggression as “jihad.” During the Osogbo War of 1840, prominent Yoruba Muslim warriors played heroic roles in repelling the Ilorin forces, a vassal army of the Sokoto Fulani caliphate. Among them were Balogun Ali Iwo, Muhammad Obadoke Latoosa, and the Ibadan Islamic scholar Balogun Muhammadu Osundina Baba Apanpa, who went into battle wearing his turban and carrying his ablution kettle.
Let us therefore reject fake news, terrorist propaganda, and Islamophobic hate campaigns. We are all in this together. Yoruba Muslims remain indispensable in the defence of Yorubaland against criminals and terrorists of any ethnicity or creed.

One benefit of reading Prof MOA ABDUL's JSS introduction to IRK textbooks was learning of the abuses suffered by Prophet Muhammed SAW.
He was called a Sorcerer, Poet, Mad Man, Liar , Soothsayer, Fabricator.
These by same people who before his Prophethood acknowledged him as "The Truthful" (As-Sadiq) and "The Trustworthy" (Al-Amin).
They are partly why I find attacks against Muslims who have stood firm on their Islamic beliefs by these Nazis funny.
Why should a Muslim be happy that those who abuse the Prophet SAW, and call him vile names are happy with his religious stance in the first place?
Like, what sort of Muslim are you?
Anyways, one advantage we have today is the sheer volume of numbers.
Apart from abuses and curses, what can their Jero do🤣😂🤣.
Eni ti eyan o ba le Damu, Epe le yan ma n she.
So, to the Muslims who are standing firm against these midgets who think of themselves as bullies.
Take it as a badge of honour. The Prophet SAW and his companions faced multiple times worse from the Quraishis of Mekkah.
They triumphed.

May Almighty Allah never make me believe I’m a Yoruba before being a Muslim. Islam first, Islam always, Islam everyday. If that makes me less Yoruba, AlhamduliLah…. May Allah preserve me upon Khayr.
This silly retort has gone on for so long.
When Ekiti, Ijesha, Ila Aborishas invited Fulani of Ilorin against Ikirun, it was Muslim calvaries of Iwo, Ede, Ikirun that fought them back.
It ended in decisive victory in Jalumi war of 1878.
Even during the Ogele, Pamo, Mugbamugba wars, you should ask what Aborishas did in making sure Ilorin prevailed against Oyo armies.
When you want to give these silly takes, stop mentioning Muslims there.
Muslims have more than proved their worth.
Perhaps we should ask which ones Missionaries took when it became Yoruba First or Christianity FIRST.
Maybe then we would explore their roles in the destruction of Lagos in 1851.
Or the role of CMS missionaries in the bombardment of Ijebu Imagbon war of 1892.
Shebi you don't have sense not to probe ni.
You will hear the lessons of what made the vulture's head go bald.
@ZeezMorgan@_Abou_bakr Terrorism is evil, regardless of the perpetrators. However,Islam should not be blamed because of the actions of some Fulani terrorists. There are over 2billion Muslims in the world, thus,it will be unfair to condemn the Sharia or Islam because of the actions of some foolish people.
@ZeezMorgan@_Abou_bakr Every conscious Muslim knows that the Northern political leaders are not practicing the Sharia law the way it should be practiced. The Sharia law does not support banditry,Kidnapping, stealing, etc. ordinarily, those Fulani terrorists would be killed in a Sharia compliant country.
