For months, Washington insisted U.S. missile stockpiles were “more than enough.”

Now Trump has summoned senior Pentagon officials and the CEOs of Lockheed Martin, RTX, Boeing, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Honeywell to discuss expanding munitions production after the Iran war depleted key inventories.

The Pentagon is seeking $52.9 billion to boost production of Patriot, THAAD, Standard Missile, and other critical interceptors, but contractors say they still need congressional funding before new contracts can move forward.

Officials acknowledged shortages of some missiles even before the war. The conflict only accelerated the problem.

They called the reports propaganda. Now they’re holding emergency meetings to replace what was spent.
