A Special Live Presentation of Findings on the NDC Government’s 120 Days Social Contract Assessment
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, IMANI Africa will undertake a special live presentation of findings from our recent assessment of the policies and actions undertaken by the new NDC administration during its first 120 days in office, based on the commitments contained in the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s 120 Days Social Contract document.
Ghana has made limited but commendable strides under the ongoing IMF programme in relation to the economy; and towards resolving existing governance challenges; however, history shows that the absence of robust citizen oversight and demand for structural reforms often leads to governments prioritizing short-term gains over sustainable, long-term change.
To help highlight the need to address these challenges, IMANI has undertaken a comprehensive review of the early initiatives of the new administration to determine the extent to which they lay the foundation for structural reforms that promote good governance, fiscal stability, and pro-poor development.
The presentation will:
• Provide an overview of commitments fulfilled so far- in the 120 days social contract.
• Highlight the critical structural challenges Ghana must urgently address.
• Analyze the alignment (or gaps) between the government's early policy actions and long-term reform needs.
• Provide recommendations for strengthening citizen-led demand for accountability and reform.
Please stay tuned for details of the special live presentation .
We look forward to your participation as we work together to deepen accountability, promote structural reforms, and build a more prosperous Ghana.
Yours sincerely,
Franklin Cudjoe
