Doesn’t give the board a pass. We should be better at selling. That would’ve helped a lot. And I understand being annoyed at the level of activity compared to others. But most are panicking and I wouldn’t have wanted their summers.

I like our midfield rebuild, but we did need defensive cover, hence my rating.

If Carrick is planning to use Mazraoui as Shaw’s backup while accepting that INEOS won’t sign a proper left-back, then he’s setting himself up for trouble later in the season.

And if Yoro is being viewed as Dalot’s backup, that’s another questionable decision.

You can’t build a squad around constantly moving players out of their natural roles.

Carrick needs to be ruthless with INEOS about his squad.
