Where's that @uoftmedicine ? We're looking really hard to find it, and we can't seem to. Are we only tokens to you? Does excellence only come through equity when it is convenient for you?
Remember when @uoftmedicine posted this story documenting Black History in the Making? https://t.co/JO5GGBCq7L and the time where they put my face on their financial aid/fundraising campaign? Or the time they created BSAP to pioneer excellence through equity?
Let's amplify this #MedTwitter
Donate to support a brilliant medical student at UofT and a member of the BMSAC family, Noroh. Finances should not be the reason an amazing student and person does not achieve their goals.

Although I appreciate the approach Queen's has begun to take, I do wish more was addressed on how these Black and Indigenous students will be properly supported at a school that is known to have blatant issues with racism especially for undergrads: https://t.co/Xy5SR4DSHb
"The restriction of debate... invariably hurts those who lack power and makes everyone less capable of democratic participation."
The irony is that "debate" and "democracy" are already hurting those who lack power, they've just never noticed or cared until they were offended.
The change !!! It’s coming!!! Congrats to those working relentlessly to make this happen. We all know diversity in HCPs is fundamentally better for medical care - excited to see this happen. Who’s next!!!!!
The BMSA team is excited to announce the introduction of BAAP! This is a historic day for the BMSA and CSM. Congratulations to @aya_ebdalla @ChideraNwaroh @KeriiMc, & Mursal Mohamud for leading this initiative. Thank you to our allies and CSM leaders for commiting to action!
@tomasrdiaz @uoftmedicine It lead to a significant increase in the number of Black students at UofT Med. There will be 50+ Black medical students next year!
@tomasrdiaz @uoftmedicine launched a Black Student Application Program (BSAP) in 2017 that ensures members of the Black community as well as Black physicians, faculty, & students are part of both tile review and interviews for those who apply through the stream.
Dx: Racism (a story thread)
Today, I met Mama and my patient B. It had been awhile, Mama sighed. There was so much to share, she said, and the stories tumbled out.
this verdict shows how difficult it is for Black people to get fair decisions through the courts. they can't provide justice for us. the abolition of police AND our court systems will allow us to build systems of true accountability
I know this hurts--let's hold each other today
