It remains a mystery how England hasn’t had a good goalkeeper since the 1990s. Mainly because it’s such a spiritually English position, similar to target man strikers, box to box midfielders, and commanding center halves.
@movedmypivot The team won 60 games and was 3rd in defense and 10th in offense and the fanbase wants to trade literally everyone not named Cade or Ausar lmao
It’s stupid that Kane can aggressively stutter in his run up but the offense that gets punished is the goalkeeper having one foot off the line.
Nobody thinks the goalkeeper is getting a bigger advantage from his foot placement than Kane’s run up provides. The rule is backwards.
@BrianJNBA@HPbasketball 42% free throw shooter and 39:52 AST:TO ratio 😬 😬 😬 that’s almost disqualifying, even if all the medicals and other concerns check out
@BirdWatcher504@JoeDumarsBurner I’m definitely not a casual lol. Pelicans have some nice players and prospects. I just think their front office has made bad moves, and it’s easy to spot the trend because it’s the same type of bad moves that led to them getting fired from my Pistons lol
@BirdWatcher504@JoeDumarsBurner Pelicans would’ve been stupid not to tank if they owned their pick. I like Fears but he’s not going top ten in this draft, nor is Queen. The Pacers pick was what you used to get to 23 and then you added 8th overall this year to go from 23 to get Queen. Lots of poor value moves.
@JoeDumarsBurner@BirdWatcher504 It wasn’t Queen for pick 8 tho. It was for your pick that you could’ve tanked and had as a top 4 pick. Also you could’ve just had Queen but you took Fears instead. Not to mention you also gave up the Pacers pick (5th overall) and also #21 to get there. Bad trade all around
I don’t buy that in four years Messi won’t be among the best 26 Argentinian footballers alive. It should be like the Masters where he gets invited every time
The incredibly rare scenario where we all kinda agree it’s a penalty but somehow the referee doesn’t give it. It’s also unbelievable how bad the process of VAR has become
@LizWolfeReason People use religion to explain racism and sexism too. But we don’t care because we are not a country that mandates religion. And we do in fact mandate equal treatment. When we practice that mandate of equal treatment, it doesn’t, or it shouldn’t, matter what your religion says.
@JoeDumarsBurner Ron is very good! And tbh we have to acknowledge that New Orleans is the least value conscious team in the league right now. It’s hard to back them to make a good sale of Murphy after how last summer went
As a career move, I do think *some* players should *sometimes* leave cash on the table.
Devin Booker is probably never going to play another basketball game in May. Like, ever again. He sacrificed that so his career earnings could go from $600m to $700m. That’s not worth it IMO.
have so much respect for jalen brunson and what he's been able to accomplish but one of the worst lessons coming from this knicks' championship run is the idea that great players need to take less money to build a great team. that's owner propaganda, man. don't fall for it.
I don’t buy it. Free agency starts on June 30, an offer sheet can’t be signed until July 6, and there’s a 48 hour matching period.
You have to park $44m for 8 days when we all know Detroit will match. Brooklyn is intent on winning next year. Chicago has so many more holes.
Sneaky one is Brooklyn. They can send like six firsts and a couple of young guys. Then you have Demin-Burries-MPJ bombing 3s around Giannis, tons of cap flexibility, and a long runway.
By the way, how embarrassing is that Mikal trade right now. The picks are nice but oof.
There's so much talk about Boston or Miami for Giannis. But Kawhi Leonard got sent to Toronto, Paul George to Oklahoma City, Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland. Surprise teams do trade for stars even without knowing if they'll stay long-term.
Could there be a Giannis mystery team?
@PenguinHoops@thom_not_tom WCJ edged him in most of the statistical categories and he had more eye catching, high leverage performances. They’re comparable but I liked Clayton more
@pmmbasketball Ty Jerome shot 15/50 from the field in the Pacers series last year. Memphis has at least three players (Aldama, Coward, whoever goes 16th) that that are more core than Jerome. Crazy to include him lol
