If you look at your family background, your father's societal status, your siblings and their financial strength.
And you compare it with that of the man who says that he wants to marry you.
If the man's own is way above yours, please you may wish not to get married to him.
Otherwise, you may become his sex toy, and the sacrificial lamb of your family.
You'll be crying in a Benz but the world will think that you're happy.
If you confide in your parents over what you're going through, they'll be powerless and may not be able to call your husband to order, or even counsel him.
You'll hardly travel to go see your parents, neither can they even visit you to see their grandchildren.
Unless with the express approval of your husband and he'll give you limited time under close monitoring.
Everything will be made available to you: cars, maid, beautiful house, secured environment, etc.
But you'll be lonely.
You'll hardly have your friends visit you.
It's only social media that they'll be seeing your lifestyle and assume that you're in "heaven".
But only you and your immediate family know what you're really passing through in that marriage.
And if you say that you're tired and you want out of that marriage, you'll never find it easy.
The man and his family will torment your life.
You may not even be able to see your children until you return back to him.
That's the price you may have to pay when you do not build with a man, and you just want to run away from your poverty into wealth.
AJD.
If you're dating any woman from a poor home, or a home where she doesn't wish going back to, please be careful.
Especially if you're not ready to marry or you're doing well as a young man and living in your rented or owned apartment.
She'll attempt to get pregnant for you, so as to escape her home to be in yours.
Many women rushed into marriage just to escape poverty.
AJD.
@Chi_lady_89 Same man will marry a maid, keep her at home to do chores, but goes back to a baddie and pays for everything. At the end of the day, you swallow what you can chew
Feud between cousins are mostly caused by entitled, lazy and greedy parents.
You know that you're not financially capable, but you decide to give birth to children that you know that you cannot cater to.
You are not earning as much and you do not want to cut your coat according to your size.
You ask your sibling for help and that sibling says he or she cannot help at the moment, or doesn't give you as much as you had requested.
Instead of you to own up to the fact that you failed your children, you'll start to push your responsibilities to your innoccent siblings who are doing financially better than you are.
You will be telling your children
"Your school fees of N100k has not been paid, but your uncle's or aunty's children go to schools where they pay N1m, and they cannot even give N100k to pay your school fees"
And many more examples.
That child or those chiidren begin to see their uncles or aunties as wicked.
And then start building resentment and envy towards them.
They'll be sympathetic to you their parents and envious towards their cousins that did nothing to them.
Even when you show them kindness, they'll feel that it's their entitlement.
This is why your kind parents, despite all the kindness that they showed towards their siblings and your cousins, recievevd evil or ungrateful attitude in the long run.
The parents of your cousins were predominantly the cause of it.
Envy, bitterness, entitlement, greed.
These things are all too common in our African society because we live a communal life.
You have the responsibility not to make your own children be like them.
Focus on your pocket size before you decide to start raising a family.
Not the pocket size of your siblings or other family members of yours.
So that you'll not raise ungrateful and envious children who you raised because of your greedy mentality.
End.
As a man,
If you're married and things have been fine with you financially for a long time.
Then you start experiencing financial hardship, and your wife under few months, starts to treat you badly with disrespect and constant insults.
You married a coded prostitute.
End.
You can't walk away from every violent situation with your girlfriend or wife.
And you shouldn't.
Quarrels are part of relationship or marriage.
You are the man who is the leader and must look for ways to deescalate the situation.
And then you assess the genesis of it and learn from it.
Women are naturally strong headed and daring.
Especially to men that have seen their nakedness.
You'll never find a perfect woman.
But you must find a woman that you can lead and she'll learn to be submissive to you as a wife.
Because submission is earned and not a given just because you're her husband.
A woman does not automatically become a submissive wife just because you have married her.
How you lead her will determine how well she'll be submissive to you.
So you need to prepare your mind.
Women will always act like adult babies.
Will you disown your child just because he or she is throwing some tantrums?
Women throw tantrums frequently.
As long as she's with the man who she sees as her boyfriend or husband.
Stop judging women romantically from the way your female colleagues or bosses behave in the office.
End.
If you know anyone that has been good to you in your life journey, please do all you can not to be in their bad books.
It doesn't matter if that good person is not good to another person that you know.
Judge him or her by how they treat you, and not by how they treat others.
You don't know why they may not be kind to the other person.
And I am not just talking about how he or she treats random people on the streets.
That's different.
Also, when someone shows you kindness even in secret, please do well to tell others, even if you may never be able to pay the person back.
By doing so, you may be saving the person and giving them a good name in the sight of some others who may be judging the person wrongly from afar.
This was what my late father told me, and so I just feel like sharing it to others.
Put simply, do not inherit other people's enemies, because you do not know what transpired between them.
Unless you are aware.
End.
Marriage will humble you because eventually your spouse will see you fail.
They will see you when you're broke, sick, stressed, insecure, unemployed, overweight, depressed about life or completely unsure about what to do next.
The question is not whether your spouse will ever see you at your lowest.
They will.
The real question is what kind of person they become when you are no longer impressive.
Anybody can love you when life is easy character is revealed when life becomes ugly.
A man that says he wants to marry you must:
1. Have a roof over his head (which he pays for or rents).
2. Have a legitimate income.
3. Be older than you are with at most 7 years (10 years is a stretch).
4. Not be a baby daddy, unless you're also a baby mama (but this is not compulsory in the case of a man).
5. Not have the 50/50 mindset.
6. Be able to satisfy you sexually.
7. Not necessarily be a religious man or a pastor or imam.
8. Be intelligent or street smart.
9. Honor and respect his parents.
10. Not be a mommy's boy.
11. Not be a yahoo boy, a drug addict or a criminal.
12. Be fertile and not shooting blanks.
13. Be admired and wanted by other women (and you would see it).
14. Not have a big dick.
15. Respect and honor God in his imperfections.
AJD.
Within our first 5 years of marriage, my lovely wife got me so posed off.
I didn't even make too much noise.
I quietly applied for a visa to a certain country and I was determined to abandon my marriage to go elsewhere and start my life afresh.
I didn't know that my wife was aware of my plans. I was so cold towards her at that time, and my kids were very little.
But I was so angry that I wasn't talking much to anyone because I was just waiting to get my visa.
That visa was denied.
I simply accepted the denial quietly and remained in my marriage.
Few years later, I was searching for something and I stumbled upon a book.
In it, my lovely wife wrote:
"Dear God, my husband is planning to abandon us. Please do not grant his visa request. Please, God."
End.
Marriage is not "I found a perfect person."
It is "I found a person I can correct and tolerate, and who can correct and tolerate me, without both of us packing a bag every week."
Perfection in marriage is an illusion.
Because you're married to your "best enemy".
End.
At the bar where I am, I decided to have a conversation with one of the waitresses.
A very pretty young girl.
Turned out that we're from the same state.
Me: How old are you?
"I am 20 years old, sir"
Me: Have you written Jamb?
"No sir, I did not even write Waec. There is no money to go to school. I am the one responsible for 2 of my younger ones, sir"
Me: How many children does your father have?
"Seven sir."
Me: How much is your salary here?
"50k sir"
Me: Do you have a boyfriend?
"No sir, I don't."
Me: What you want to do with your life? Do you want to go to the university or what?
"Sir, I want to go to a catering school. I want to learn how to do different things, sir"
Me: How much is the catering school asking you to pay?
"Sir, it's expensive ooo"
Me: How much?
"Sir, they said N400k".
Me: Alright, you can go.
What I am thinking to do:
I want to help her, but I have not discussed with my wife yet.
If I discuss with my wife, and she agrees with me to help her, I'll take my wife to the bar to see her.
Then my wife will be the one to give her the money.
E no dey hard make women use toto to say "thank you".
And I don't want to fall for that temptation.
Otherwise, she'll start using me as a cash cow and savior.
End.
