[Live2D Tips] #3
Originally, I intended to share something else this week, but yesterday I was discussing how to make an equalizer halo with a friend, so I decided to change this week’s topic to that instead XD
My initial approach was to use the 3D ring method. However, there were some issues related to the back face and front face, which would require a massive number of masks to solve, and that is definitely not feasible.
So this morning, I tried a more basic approach, using geometry references to create a simple halo. This solution requires very few masks, and I feel the result is sufficient for most cases.
This is just a POC, so it’s still very unpolished. I’ll be using it in one of my upcoming models, and I guarantee it will look way cooler and more luxurious!
Please look forward to it.
As usual, if you don’t mind and find this content helpful, I would really appreciate it if you could follow me!
Hope this sharing helps!

Tip: How to perfectly align and deform of a VTuber tongue-out
Here is the tongue-out version. As you can see, it's separated into the main mouth deformer, a correction deformer, and a dedicated deformer for the tongue.
This should help prevent the tongue from distorting mid-form and keep the angle looking natural.
