-Look, I loved Francis last season. He had an outside chance at a Cy Young in 2025. But with how bad his Split-Finger fastball has been, we have to continue fading him in plus matchups

-Francis has given up 3+ ER in 7/:9 games and 4/L5 road games. His 6.91 FIP ranks DEAD LAST in the majors among starts. He’s giving up 2.8 HR/9 (dead last) and a 1.56 WHIP (7th worst)

-He’s especially struggled vs LHH this season. He’s giving up a .647 SLG and 14 total home runs. That, of course, ranks dead last in the majors. So if a lineup has power lefties, it could spell a long day for him

-The Phillies have Schwarber, Kepler, Stott, and Marsh all projected to start tomorrow. On paper, this lineup should crush Bowden, and it already has. Bowden just gave up 6 runs in 1.2 innings vs the Phillies 2 starts ago

-This will likely be Francis’s last chance to prove himself in the starting rotation. The Blue Jays are too good to let Bowden continue to throw games for them. While he doesn’t have the longest leash in the world, it will be long enough to let him give up 3+ runs
