@jackie_stanaway @psyc220 Thank you and I completely agree it needs to be talked about more!! Unfortunately it seems like it is so normalized in our society, that it is barely talked about.

My friend, who is queer, relayed to me that being queer intercepts her being a woman, as it could lead to fetishization. Being a part of the queer community manifests with her gender identity into something that negatively affects both identities.

Rep. Jordan is making an ethical appeal based on the ethic of autonomy. As he promises, he will protect an individual's right to bear arms so that they may protect themselves with their own guns. Thus, protecting their individual rights to own a gun.
@LizzieBryan0357 @psyc220 #CD6 @psyc220 I have heard about this as well! It is extremely saddening that one's access to reliable and accessible health services relies on certain, and privileged, identity groups.

I agree this tweet demonstrates the ethic of autonomy, as you have stated, AOC proceeds are going to help people so that they may receive better education opportunities.

Something that JMU does creates barriers for those with disabilities and not having frequent accessible ICS buses. The majority of students rely on the ICS to travel all across campus at any time, but the HDPT paratransit requires a 24 call-in before using it.

An "inspirational porn" I found from JMU was displaying disabilities books in Carrier for Disability Awareness Week. Displaying these books for a limited time on display makes them look "special" for a limited time when they should be on display permanently.
@hargraer @psyc220 Exactly! If JMU libraries truly wanted to be more inclusive they should have it out permanently instead for a special amount of time.
@ScoutJSF @psyc220 @psyc220 #CD5b That is wonderful news! I truly wish the media would cover stories like this more often, as they go underreported most of the time. However, thank you for sharing this information!
@davitch_peyton @psyc220 @psyc220 #CD5b I agree that standardized testing is a disadvantage for those with disabilities; however, I do believe that the university goes to great lengths to ensure that students, who need it, can get accommodations.
@ScoutJSF @psyc220 @psyc220 #CD5a
The buildings on the quad are historic, so it doesn't surprise me that they are barely accessible; however, even the newer buildings seem very inaccessible sometimes. I agree that it probably takes more time to plan and get to a classroom because of this.
@davitch_peyton @psyc220 @psyc220 #CD5a I agree that this is inspirational porn, as the woman (Bethany Hamilton) is not mentioned explicitly mentioned but rather she is being grouped with other disabled people by saying "they" instead of "she." It's to make able-bodied people feel better about themselves
