When many discuss the world turning its back on Afghanistan, they aren’t talking about aid, healthcare, or investment. It’s often code for the same bombs and raids that created mass graves of the girls the war claimed it was saving.

Hospitals were destroyed, weddings turned into funerals, communities lived in fear of night raids, and the “mother of all bombs” were dropped on the country.

It is deeply disturbing when women’s suffering is used to rehabilitate failed war narratives that only deepened that suffering. Any student of history would know, Afghanistan has been devastated by repeated foreign intervention sold as some kind of salvation.

A prominent religious scholar has reportedly been killed by Pakistani intelligence.

According to sources, this morning in the Charsadda area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a well-known Pashtun religious scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Idris, was targeted and killed by Pakistani intelligence.
Reports indicate that the issue between Sheikh Idris and Pakistani intelligence was that he refused to comply with their demands and remained firm in his religious stance.
It is worth noting that, according to the same claims, Pakistani intelligence has previously killed or imprisoned dozens of well-known religious scholars who did not accept the demands of the military and intelligence agencies.
Furthermore, it is alleged that Pakistani intelligence and the military have repeatedly threatened religious scholars across Pakistan, pressuring them to support and legitimize the army and government. Those scholars who refused to recognize the system as legitimate or did not accept their un-Islamic demands have reportedly been targeted, including the Haqqania Madrasa head in Pakhtunkhwa Maulana Sami-ul-Haq Haqqani, has son Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, Maulana Naseeb Khan, and now Sheikh Muhammad Idris.
