@SecCardona I known of many kids that are thriving in remote learning models. Quality of instruction over quantity is what is always important. One size does not ever fit all in education.
Our students have been through so much this year, and they need our full support for their learning and social and emotional well-being.
The last thing they need is to take a stressful, ineffective standardized test.

High-stakes tests have never been valid or reliable measures of what students know and are able to do, and they are especially unreliable this year. #CancelTheTests
North Carolina has just six counties in the red zone — the lowest number since we started the County Alert System. This is encouraging, but progress can be fragile. Let’s continue wearing our masks and following safety protocols as we get closer to beating this virus.
Forcing students to take standardized tests in the middle of a pandemic is a terrible idea. It will exponentially increase the stress that students and staff already face in order to collect data that is largely useless. #nope
Every politician in DC should have to teach for a year and live off of a teachers salary. Then I would have faith they understand the needs of the people they serve, the changes needed in education and how to actually spend less wastefully.
