Investment banking with an MBA wasn’t enough. I had to enroll into a program at Saïd Business School in private equity/markets to command hard skill training. In general, any risk management course or major pairs well with CFA.
By now, an MBA is standard. Accounting courses have their merits, but your endgame should be your driving force. Do you want to be an investment/portfolio manager or a technical expert in a particular financial market instrument? The field is vast, and playing to your strengths will most likely land you where you want to be eventually.
Time, type of industry you’re in and resources matter too. Pivoting isn’t easy but it’s possible. We’re living in a world of hybrids. You could be the first of its kind. All it takes is desire.
