With hundreds of tons of fuel onboard, even a small mistake could have triggered a catastrophic disaster. Responding to the emergency, the Indian Navy deployed a specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team that successfully located, rendered safe, and removed the unexploded warhead without any casualties or secondary explosions.

The operation highlights the critical role modern navies play not only in warfare but also in preventing maritime disasters and maintaining security across the Indian Ocean Region.

Reports claim a US F-35A transmitted the emergency code 7700 while flying over the UAE after a mission near the Strait of Hormuz. The aircraft reportedly diverted toward Al Dhafra Air Base, but the reason behind the emergency remains unknown.

A 7700 squawk does not automatically mean an aircraft is about to crash. It can be triggered by anything from a technical malfunction to a precautionary safety issue. However, when a fifth-generation stealth fighter declares an emergency in one of the world's most tense military regions, questions are inevitable.

Was it a routine technical problem? A systems failure? Or something more serious?

Until official details are released, the mystery remains unresolved.
