NEW: 66th Palestinian Prisoner Dies in Israeli Custody Amid Warnings of “Systematic Killings”

60-year-old Muhyiddin Fahmi Saeed Najm, a father of six from Jenin, died in Israel’s Soroka Hospital after months of medical neglect while held without charge. He is the 66th Palestinian to die in Israeli custody since October—a toll rights groups say reflects a deliberate campaign of slow, systematic killing.

▪️ Najm, who spent a total of 19 years in Israeli prisons, was arrested last August under administrative detention and never charged with a crime.
▪️ Despite suffering from chronic illness and being unable to walk by March, Najm was denied treatment and never told the nature of his condition.
▪️ Rights groups say his death is part of a broader pattern of medical crimes, starvation, and abuse inside Israeli prisons.
▪️ Negev Prison, where he was held, has been described as a site of “horrific crimes,” including the spread of untreated diseases like scabies.
▪️ Of the 66 confirmed deaths in custody since the war began, at least 40 are from Gaza. The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs warns this is the deadliest phase in the history of the Palestinian prisoner movement.
▪️ The group is calling for urgent international intervention and sanctions, accusing Israel of war crimes and demanding an end to its impunity.
