At some point in the last ten years (it’s hard to tease out exactly when) we crossed a boundary that no one celebrated:
Most people diagnosed with cancer in the United States of America this year will not be killed by that cancer.
Yes, outcomes have improved.
Conversations with the 8yo DM:
8yo DM: Dropping to 0 hit points shouldn’t make you fall unconscious. That’s boring.
Me: What’s your idea?
8yo DM: You should gasp out your final words like Boromir knowing you are about to die. If you stabilize, then you can pass out.

DnD Hot Take:
If you tell me to bring back-up characters to your session because you run high-stakes DnD and characters will die, the stakes are actually quite low.
High stakes means I care deeply about my character’s story and will be devastated if they lose a finger.

Jonathan Bailey confirmed he filmed ‘Wicked’, ‘Fellow Travelers’ and ‘Bridgerton’ simultaneously:
“I think it was 32 days in a row where I didn’t have one day off. And I flew back and forth four times. I’d go from Hawk’s house in the ‘60s at the cabin, go straight to the airport, sleep on the plane, go straight to a regency ball, sleep there, then go straight to ‘Wicked’ to be learning choreography […] There’s nothing quite like the feeling of trying to work out the priorities of whether you have to learn the choreography today, or work on your American accent, or pelt your hair ready for another Bridgerton snog.”
