Akal Takhat is not merely an institution - it is the highest temporal authority of the Sikh Panth.

Raised by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the Sixth Guru, it established a revolutionary idea: that spiritual life and worldly responsibility are not separate.

A Sikh bows only to Akaal, yet in collective matters stands under the authority of the Panth through Akal Takhat.

From emperors to generals, from misl chiefs to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, no throne stood above it. Even the Lion of Punjab appeared before the Panth in humility and accepted discipline. Power, wealth, armies, kingdoms - all remain smaller than the Gurmat principle embodied by Akal Takhat.

Its authority was never built on force, but on collective conscience, sacrifice, and spiritual legitimacy.

Akal Takhat reminds every Sikh:

No crown is greater than the Guru.
No ruler stands above the Panth.
No authority is supreme except Truth.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have booked the Commanding Officer of the 17 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), a Major, a Naib Subedar, and 30 to 40 soldiers for allegedly storming the Atholi police station in Kishtwar district. The army personnel are accused of violently assaulting senior police officers and vandalising government property on Wednesday.

The FIR says that an hour and a half later, a pre-planned retaliatory strike was launched from the 17 RR Camp in Kijayee. Acting under the direct orders of their commanding officer, a group of 30 to 40 army personnel armed with iron rods, lathis, and service weapons scaled the main gate and boundary walls to breach the police station.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, young gymnast Harschit Damodharan has scripted history by winning gold in the Junior Men's Vault event at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, becoming part of India's first-ever gold-silver finish in the competition alongside Akshat Bajaj.

Just a day earlier, he had also helped India secure a historic team bronze.

After topping the qualification rounds, Harschit rose to the occasion when it mattered most.

Behind this achievement are years of relentless training, discipline, and the guidance of coaches who believed in his potential.

From the practice hall to the continental podium, his journey is a reminder that champions are built one leap, one landing, and one determined day at a time.

On the Shaheedi Diwas of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji, we remember one of the most extraordinary chapters in Sikh history - a life transformed by faith, dedicated to justice, and completed through sacrifice.

Born as Lachhman Dev and later known as Madho Das Bairagi, his life changed forever after meeting Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Guru entrusted him not with power, but with a mission - to stand against oppression and uphold righteousness.

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji led campaigns that challenged tyranny and gave dignity to ordinary people. After the victory at Sirhind, he introduced reforms that were revolutionary for their time, empowering farmers and weakening oppressive systems.

Yet his greatest victory was not on the battlefield.

Captured after years of resistance and subjected to unimaginable cruelty, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji refused to abandon his faith. Even in the face of death, his spirit remained unbroken.

His Shaheedi stands as a timeless reminder that courage is not the absence of suffering - it is remaining true to your principles despite it.

Remembering his sacrifice and drawing inspiration from his unwavering spirit.

Meet Group Captain Abhimanyu Singh — a man who proved that courage is not the absence of danger, but the ability to rise above it.

On the night of 21 November 2024, while flying a Su-30MKI with a trainee pilot onboard, disaster struck. The aircraft's rear canopy suddenly shattered mid-air, causing explosive decompression. Shards of the canopy slammed into him, leaving him injured and bleeding. It was night. The aircraft was damaged. The situation was critical.

But Group Captain Abhimanyu Singh did not panic. He did not abandon the mission. And he did not eject.

With remarkable composure, exceptional flying skill, and unwavering determination, he manually controlled the damaged fighter jet, stabilized the aircraft, and safely brought both himself and the trainee pilot back to base.

In those decisive moments, he chose duty over fear, responsibility over self-preservation, and courage over chaos.

For this extraordinary act of gallantry and devotion to duty, he was awarded the Shaurya Chakra.

Heroes are not defined by the medals they wear, but by the lives they protect.
