Why are there so few Black bishops in America?
“The short answer is racism.”
America’s youngest bishop, Robert Boxie (@WashArchdiocese), speaks candidly about a Confederate flag in seminary, tokenism, DEI, what white Catholics often miss ... and why the Church cannot be afraid of hard conversations about race.

U.S. Navy sailor Joshua Aviles, deployed onboard the USS Lincoln, is “fighting a second battle” after his father was detained by ICE, according to Danitza James, a combat veteran and immigration advocate helping the family.
DHS told @camiloreports the sailor’s father entered the U.S. illegally, saying that “(h)aving a family member in the military is not a free pass to violate our nation's laws."
And just like that, I realized we’re alone. It’s just my son and I, surrounded by the ghosts of a life I once lived. The battlefield now grows sunflowers. My friends are now like the wind stroking my face, something I can feel but never see. This time coming back felt empty. A memory of a world that no longer exist. Walking the footsteps of my own past. Now trying to see it through my son’s eyes, finding a new path together.

Obsluha mu vrátí stovku a říká: benzin došel.
This (not the first such meeting) should raise alarm bells in the EU.
Israeli leadership’s interests are diametrically opposed to EU’s interest in stability not just in the Middle East but in its own Balkans backyard.
When Notre-Dame burned in 2019, the world stopped.
Today, Russia damages Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a monastery nearly 1,000 years old and older than Notre-Dame itself.
A thousand years of history deserves the same attention, the same sympathy, and the same protection.
On board the papal plane from Rome to Madrid:
I asked the pope about what he thought about number of young people showing an interest in faith/conversions. He referenced that Bad Bunny has a concert tonight in Madrid.
“If they are confronted with the question: do they want to see Bad Bunny or do they want to see the Pope, I think many will see Bad Bunny. But I think there will also be a few here to see the pope. And that says something, you know.”
More of the same rehearsed, stock answers from Trump’s judiciary nominees. We need judges who are fearless & strong, not spineless & weak—so fearful of Trump that they are unable to say Biden won the 2020 election.
A second Russian vessel carrying stolen Ukrainian grain is approaching Haifa, Israel.
Israel previously accepted grain cargo from another Russian ship despite prior warnings about its origin. Ukraine formally requested the vessel’s arrest as soon as it entered port, but Israeli authorities issued a response only after the ship had already departed, stating that no action could be taken because the vessel was no longer in Israeli port.
And now, the second Rusian vessel with Ukrainian grain is en route to Haifa.
