Our cities and communities have been under almost constant attack since last night. In Odesa, rescue and search operations are continuing at the site of an apartment building damaged by a Russian missile. Thirty-seven people have been injured. The search for two more people who are still missing continues nonstop. All necessary emergency services are on the scene. This morning, the Russians struck a hotel in Chornomorsk, in the Odesa region, with a drone. Eleven people were injured, including six with limited mobility. In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed when a “shahed” struck residential buildings. Six people were injured. There were also casualties following a strike on an enterprise in Zaporizhzhia. In Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck critical infrastructure. Three people were injured, and one person was killed. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. Two more people were injured in the Kyiv region. Ten regions came under Russian attack last night, and Russian attack drones are still flying over many of them. Once again, the Russians struck ordinary gas stations in the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, as well as a locomotive depot in the Odesa region.

Our defenders have shot down more than 200 aerial targets since the beginning of this day alone, but unfortunately, not all of them. And when the Russians so blatantly turn ordinary people into targets of their terrorist attacks, it is frustrating that the response from the world’s strongest powers does not match the level of Russia’s escalation. A matching response that truly has a chance of stopping the killings and protecting people is always a joint one. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine with anti-ballistic defense. To everyone who is making the pressure on Russia felt. And to everyone who is helping Ukrainians, wherever they may be.

This morning in Kyiv, a Russian drone struck an apartment building. Four people were injured. As always, our rescuers responded swiftly, and the fire has now been extinguished. 2022年、ロシア軍の装甲部隊がホストメリ、ブチャ、イルピンを突破してキーウへ迫っていた時。

人々が避難する方向とは逆に、自転車を走らせる一人のウクライナ兵がいた。

セルヒー、コールサイン「Borets」。
HURの狙撃グループ「Tengri」の戦闘員だった。

手にはRPG-7。背中にはその弾薬。
自転車で、ロシア軍の装甲部隊が迫るイルピンへ向かった。

戦車、��空機、ミサイルなど、圧倒的な戦力を持っていた侵略軍に対し、それでも持てる武器を手にして立ち向かった人々がいた。

勝てる保証があったからではない。守るべき国と人々がいたから、彼らは立ち向かったのだ。

こうした一人一人の抵抗が、ロシア軍によるキーウ攻略を阻んだ。

その「Borets」が数日前、ロシア軍の航空攻撃によって戦死した。最後は海兵隊部隊の指揮官として戦っていた。

ウクライナが今も存在しているのは、こうした人々が侵略者に立ち向かったからだ。

It happened in broad daylight – while journalists were live on air. The building was partially destroyed. All necessary services are working at the site. State Emergency Service personnel have already extinguished the fire. As of now, five people have been reported injured. Unfortunately, that number may still rise.

“Shaheds” against the media mark a new chapter in Russia’s degradation, and Europe and the world must certainly respond to this. Not a single strike against Ukraine and Ukrainians – against life itself – can be left unpunished. Russia must be stopped, and this is possible only through joint efforts.

Last night, the Russians struck a civilian enterprise in Kamianske, in the Dnipro region, killing four people and injuring five others. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Ordinary residential buildings were damaged in many regions – in Kherson, Boryspil, and the Kharkiv region. In Sumy and Mykolaiv, drones struck shopping malls.

There were also demonstrative Russian strikes on our airports overnight – in Kyiv and Boryspil. Deliberate, for the first time in a while. Clearly, these Russian strikes on the airports are a reaction to the discussions and preparations for the possibility of the U.S. side using an aircraft to travel to Ukraine and land at Kyiv Airport or Boryspil Airport. Russian-Iranian “shaheds” in response to American diplomacy. We have taken note of this Russian move, and next week we will adjust our operation accordingly regarding Russian airspace, which has become dangerous because of our drones and missiles in the sky. Of course, there are and will be no threats to diplomacy from our side.

Ukraine is interested in bringing peace closer. Russia will be held accountable for what it does. Thank you to everyone who is helping our country and the Ukrainian people!

そう告げられて、彼らは志願した。
そして、マリウポリへ飛んだ。

2022年春。
ロシア軍に完全包囲されたマリウポリ。

最後の砦となったアゾフスタリ製鉄所の地下には、守備隊だけでなく、多くの民間人が身を寄せていた。

陸路は断たれた。
砲撃と空爆は、昼も夜も止まない。

弾薬が減る。医薬品が尽きる。食料が尽きる。
増えるのは、重傷者だけ。

絶望的な状況。

それで���、守備隊は降伏しなかった。

彼らを支えるためにウクライナが実行したのが、Mi-8ヘリによる極秘空輸作戦だった。

アゾフスタリまでは、ロシア軍支配地域を100km以上突破しなければならない。
その空には、レーダー、地対空ミサイル、携帯式防空ミサイルが��ち構えている。

生き残る方法は、ひとつしかなかった。

高度3〜5m。
速度220〜250km/h。

木々の高さより低く、地表すれすれを、全速で飛ぶ。

時速250kmなら、1秒で約70m進む。
木立、建物、地形をかわし、送電線が迫れば直前で跳ね上がり、越えた瞬間にまた地面へ張りつく。

高く飛べば、撃たれる。
低すぎれば、一瞬の判断ミスで墜落する。

その一線の上を、夜、暗視装置を頼りに、事前に選び抜いたルートで飛び続けた。

機体は限界まで軽くされた。
武装を外し、余分な燃料を降ろし、空いた分だけ物資と、負傷者を乗せる空間を積んだ。

自分を守る武器を捨てて、仲間を救うための機体になった。

搭乗員たちは、任務を告げられたとき、こう理解していたという。

「90%の確率で、帰ってこられない」

それでも、飛んだ。

包囲された仲間に、弾薬、武器、医薬品、食料を届けるために。
帰りには、重傷者を一人でも多く連れ帰るために。

ウクライナ国防省情報総局（HUR）の公表によれば、この作戦では約16機のMi-8が投入され、計7回のミッションで

・約30トンの物資を搬入
・72人の志願兵を増援として送り込み
・64人の負傷者を救出
・3機のヘリを喪失

した。

あるMi-8は、帰路でミサイルを受け、2基あるエンジンのうち1基を失った。
それでも負傷者を乗せたまま、残る1基だけで飛び続け、生還した。

回を重ねるごとに敵は待ち構え、帰還の確率は下がっていった。
7回目の後、HURはこれ以上の飛行は危険すぎると判断した。

――マリウポリが守ったもの――

マリウポリは、ロシアがドン��スと占領下クリミアを陸路でつなぐための、要の街だった。

守備隊は圧倒的に不利な状況で86日間抵抗し、ロシア軍の相当な戦力をこの一都市に釘付けにした。

キーウ攻略に失敗したロシアが、主力をドンバスへ振り向けようとしていた、まさにその時期に。

彼らが耐えた一日一日が、他の戦線でウクライナ軍が態勢を立て直すための時間になった。

そして、その一日を少しでも延ばすために、
「90%帰れない」と知りながら、高度3〜5m、時速250km近くで敵の防空網へ飛び込んだ搭乗員たちがいた。

これは、操縦技術の話ではない。

綿密な情報収集。ルート設計。夜間航法。超低空飛行。
そのすべての先に、最後に必要だったのは、

「自分は帰れないかもしれない。それでも、仲間のところへ行く」

という覚悟だった。

マリウポリを守った兵士たち。
そこへ飛んだ搭乗員たち。
地下で生き延びた民間人たち。

彼らは、この戦争で最も過酷な局面を耐え抜いた。

マリ��ポリの戦いは、「都市が陥落した」という一行で終わる物語ではない。

圧倒的な敵を食い止め、時間を稼ぎ、最後まで仲間を見捨てなかった――抵抗の記憶だ。

忘れないでほしい。

Today, Russian “shaheds” struck one of the universities in Kyiv – right during classes. Fortunately, the students were in the shelter – 160 students. Overnight, the Russians struck Odesa. An ordinary residential building and city infrastructure were damaged. Five people were injured, including a child. In Kherson, the Russians struck a building used by first responders and police. In the Kharkiv region, thousands of people were left without electricity after a strike, and there are injuries. In many regions, air raid alerts continue because of the threat of jet-powered drones and aerial bombs.

Unfortunately, there has been far too little response from the world and its most influential leaders to this latest Russian escalation of strikes. When Russian-Iranian “shaheds” are waging this kind of round-the-clock terror in Europe, it cannot remain a problem for our country alone. Every such strike against Ukrainians, every such use of “shaheds” and other weapons against our cities and villages is effectively Russia practicing tactics that it is preparing for other countries and other peoples as well. Now is the time to act. Evil must be stopped the moment it rears its head. Absolutely clear and decisive steps are needed to pressure Russia for this and to help Ukraine. Every partner knows what is needed: air defense for Ukraine, sanctions against Russia, and a significant increase in defense production. I thank everyone who is truly helping!

A rescue operation is currently underway in Kryvyi Rih following a strike on a shopping mall. There are many casualties. As of now, 14 people have been reported killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 100 people have been injured, among them 11 children. An absolute Russian atrocity. They're just monsters. We will definitely respond.

It is important that we have everything to protect life. It is important that the world does not remain silent about all this. An absolutely cynical and despicable strike was carried out by the Russians against an ordinary shopping center in Kryvyi Rih. The attack drones struck in two waves – half an hour after the first hit and the fire, there was a second strike targeting the emergency responders. As of now, five deaths have been reported. My condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. At least 52 people have been injured, including six children. All those injured are receiving the necessary medical care. Attacks like these are nothing less than terrorist acts. And the world must respond to them accordingly – with real pressure on the aggressor. For peace to be possible, Russia must face real accountability.

Emergency response efforts are currently underway following the Russian strike on the capital and the cities of Kyiv region. More than 600 first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and police officers are involved in the work in Kyiv, Brovary, and Boryspil. I am grateful to everyone who is helping our people.

In total, 30 residential buildings, an ordinary school, a children’s hospital, and a kindergarten were damaged in Kyiv and the region alone. Unfortunately, as of now, 15 people have been confirmed killed in Kyiv. My condolences to everyone who has lost family members and loved ones. It is important that those who were injured receive all the necessary assistance. And it is important that Ukraine’s partners do not remain silent about this and other similar strikes and truly help protect our people, protect life in Ukraine.

This Russian strike was one of the most cynical, calculated, and large-scale. There were various types of missiles and 168 drones. Today, our warriors shot down all the Russian Kalibr missiles; overall, the interception rate for cruise missiles was 93%, and a significant percentage of the drones were also shot down. The greatest threat is ballistic missiles. And this is something that depends entirely on the supply of Patriot missiles to Ukraine and therefore depends on our country’s partners. You cannot simply watch silently and indifferently, doing nothing as the Russians destroy lives with ballistic missiles. Ukrainian warriors can operate with great skill when the courage and professionalism of our people are backed by the appropriate support from our partners.
