It’s interesting how the Brooklyn Waterfronts in DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Red Hook and Coney Island attracted the queers to these sites. These areas with the exception of C.I. are million dollar properties, does this population still exist in the neighborhoods?

The queers( majority white men) isolated themselves and played roles that society would feel comfortable with. They were discriminated against and during your research did you come across why was it so easy for them to do the same to African Americans?

Interesting to learn in the late 18th early 19th Centuries the Brooklyn waterfront and Coney Island were sacred play areas for queers. Cultural, political and historical divide in the Irish- Vinegar Hill, Black- Weeksville and Queer - C.I. Community.
