@jimmyfallon If you’re unhappy, being the only person in the room who doesn’t clap is kind of a downer, for which you’ll likely feel even worse. So, logically the song doesn’t stand up to actual human behavior.
@aarontinsman Yes because my husband has stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. He is vaccinated too, but even a breakthrough case, or a mild case, or even a flu virus could be deadly for him. I mask to protect him and others like him. Just in case.
Having the last word =/= winning the debate. In fact it probably means you lost. It means the other person realized the futility/unproductiveness of continuing the discussion and you lost their ear.
@HettyCary I’d like to personally thank all these people for being responsible and protecting themselves and the vulnerable. My husband has cancer. He went out today for the first time in weeks. Just Home Depot and he was well masked but it was such a slice of normal that I teared up.
@JamieFord Just talking today with friends about this. If nothing else, do it to prevent your own financial ruin. If you’re hospitalized (I’m the US) and poorly insured, think of the damage financially.

Do not let me hear
Of the wisdom of old men, but rather of their folly,
Their fear of fear and frenzy, their fear of possession,
Of belonging to another, or to others, or to God.
The only wisdom we can hope to acquire
Is the wisdom of humility: humility is endless.
— T.S. Eliot
