It's been almost a month since the Malfoid trend started, and it is still going... powered primarily by wholesome yearning, selective gooning, and rejection of ethots.
In fact, people are now sharing even more work, deeper fan fiction, and some creators have launched a series of videos reimagined as an anime or a live-action show... so much so that some can definitely be seen as a full series or a movie.
One of the interesting things so far is how much this trend has highlighted current AI technology, and how much cinematography, editing, and flow affect the overall quality of the videos... and it's only going to get better.
People have also shared a lot of illustrated works, both hand-drawn and made with AI, including Malfoid reimagined as a cat girl, or other mythical creatures. It's really epic, and I hope it keeps going!
Also, it exposed so many people who are ignorant or late to the cultural trends... mostly disappointing to see so many "right-wing" people calling it weird and gay, which pretty much shows that these people are incapable of engaging in the discourse of the latest cultural events.
Also disappointing were the many so called "anime fans" who were exposed as tourists and LARPers for not understanding the trend as well.
#malfoid is Harry’s #1 fan (secretly, of course)
Follow so you don’t miss what happens next! I’m planning one or two more episodes to wrap up the story. I really want to keep working on my first shōjo / slice of life. 🧃
Wow we made it to 500 followers! #Malfoid has been a blast for the last week. I really do plan to keep this going until Christmas and through the airing of the first season of the show. Can't wait to see what's to come. Here's to another 500!
