That Enniskillen continues to be a flashpoint in spite of general condemnation of the bombing just proves we all need to pay more attention to local conditions and ask questions about what is going on in the world beyond the cities.

If we are to get anywhere in this place, we have to let each other remember loved ones in peace. The new Enniskillen memorial site is distinct from the Cenotaph, so it is hard to interpret this as anything other than the intentional taunting of civilian victims.

This morning I attended a dignified service of Remembrance for the Enniskillen Poppy Day Bomb.

Mourners were taunted when an individuals drove past and shouted “Up the Ra”.
