This is so interesting b/c I feel like Jackie’s bedroom isn’t a personal space… at least not for Jackie. It is yet another space where she performs for others- her mother w/ the Laura Ashely bedroom set, Jeff w/ the faking, the perfect teen magazines… the continued existence of

jackie’s being more platonic while shauna’s is more intimate… jackie’s being boxed in a picture perfect frame while shauna’s is allowed room to breathe… the performance of their sexualities and relationship with each other even within their own bedrooms and personal spaces…

@simplysimplid The prom overlapped with nationals. I would be shocked if they even had more than a couple of weeks before finals. It would be cruel to force the seniors back to repeat the year. The underclassmen like Melissa, Travis & Akilah would likely have to return or do a GED.
