Absolutely heartbreaking for @JamTarts after leading the Scottish Premiership for so much of the season and playing some brilliant football throughout the campaign.
As a Hearts supporter, it is hard not to feel frustrated. Even this afternoon against Celtic, there were two VAR decisions that many fans will be questioning. Over the last few weeks, too many big calls have gone against Hearts at crucial moments, and supporters simply want consistency and fairness in the game.
Despite everything, Hearts showed fight, character and quality all season long. Proud of the players, proud of the fans and proud of what this club achieved this season. Heads held high.

So what is the point of the Scottish FA’s key match incident panel admitting Celtic should NOT have received the match-winning penalty against Motherwell after the damage is already done?
The result stands. The points stand. The trophy celebrations stand. Fans of other clubs are simply told afterwards: “Yes, the officials got it wrong.”
If major decisions that influence a title race are later admitted to be incorrect, then supporters of clubs like Hearts have every right to ask serious questions about sporting integrity and who the real champions should have been.
How many times are Scottish football fans expected to accept “mistakes” with no accountability, no transparency, and no consequences?
This is exactly why supporters are losing faith in officiating and VAR in Scotland. Scottish football deserves better.

Yesterday at the Scottish Parliament, I was delighted to sponsor Planting Poetry & Music, a beautiful and immersive session bringing poetry, classical music, and dance into the heart of Holyrood.
The night also celebrated the launch of Tale of Tawaif, a research anthology by Indian classical vocalist Chandra Chakraborty. Hearing her work, alongside powerful readings by poets @NazaretRanea and Medha Singh (@medhawrites), and a beautiful Tagore performance by Anasua Paul, and T M Ahmed Kaysher made the whole evening incredibly special.
Thank you to T M Ahmed Kaysher, Director of @Saudha01, and everyone at the Society of Poetry and Indian Music for making this inspiring event possible.
Yesterday at Members’ Business, I spoke in recognition of Small Business Saturday UK.
Small businesses are the lifeblood of our neighbourhoods. They create wealth, provide community, and bless their neighbourhoods with a rich and distinctive identity. Despite such success, I am also acutely aware of the challenges that small businesses face. The motion notes that recognition of small businesses must continue throughout the year, beyond Small Business Saturday.
Delighted to have lodged a motion in Parliament celebrating the Scot Bangla Sporting Club’s third annual Carrom Tournament!
An inspiring event that brought communities together from across Scotland, showcasing talent, teamwork, and the rich tradition of carrom. A true celebration of sport, heritage, and community spirit.

Today in #PQs at the Scottish Parliament, I asked the Scottish Government what action is being taken to increase the number of bleed kits across Scotland.

Yesterday I meet with constituents who are amongst the 34 staff dismissed by @RockstarGames . This situation raises serious concerns about workers’ rights and potential anti-union discrimination.
Some workers were dismissed while on sick leave, recovering from surgery, or on paternity leave. As a result, workers have lost not only their livelihoods but, in some cases, their visa sponsorship, putting them at risk of losing their right to remain in the UK.
Workers should not be punished for seeking collective representation or exercising their basic rights. I stand with those affected and support calls for a full investigation into these dismissals.
I have written to Rockstar seeking clarification on how they are addressing the concerns raised by both dismissed staff and those still employed, and I will continue to monitor the situation closely as affected workers await the scheduling of their Interim Relief hearing by the Scotland Employment Tribunal, to ensure my constituents are fully supported.
I recently lodged a motion welcoming West Lothian Council’s funding bid for the new Winchburgh Train Station. This is an important milestone for one of Scotland’s fastest-growing communities and a meaningful step toward better local transport connectivity.

Here's a summary of my response to the pre-consultation on proposed changes to secondary school catchment areas in West Lothian.

Proud to highlight in Parliament the City of Edinburgh Council’s achievement at the COSLA Awards. Their Construction Skills pathways are opening doors for young people, addressing local skills shortages, and helping build the homes our communities need.

Today at #FMQ, I raised concerns about an NHS policy that requires patients to confirm within 21 days if they wish to remain on a waiting list.
While this follows national guidance, it risks unfairly disadvantaging vulnerable patients who may struggle to reply in time.
I’ve urged the First Minister to review the policy to ensure no patient loses access to essential treatment. #FMQ #workingforyou
Many Lothian constituents have already started receiving my Annual Report, which shares an overview of the work I’ve carried out over the past year in the Scottish Parliament. Note that as this is an official Parliamentary report, it contains no party-political reference, but I hope it gives you a transparent and accessible view of my recent work on your behalf.

Congratulations to NKS Edinburgh, awarded £19,875 from the National Lottery Community Fund! The grant will support a pilot project for South Asian autistic children and their careers, another powerful example of NKS’s long-standing service to women and families across Edinburgh.

Huge congratulations to the 61 Lothian organisations awarded National Lottery Community Fund grants: almost £1.9 million invested locally! This is a brilliant boost for the groups tackling inequality and supporting our communities. Excited to see what they achieve next.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the @ScotStudy & SWIE Alumni Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating the social, cultural, and economic impact of international students and graduates across Scotland.
It was inspiring to see outstanding individuals from minority backgrounds recognised for the positive change they are driving in their fields and communities.
Since 2014, Scot-Study has played a vital role in shaping Scotland into a welcoming destination for global education, supporting thousands of students through applications, enrolment, community events, and career opportunities.
Thank you to Scot-Study for inviting me to speak at such a meaningful occasion, and to Solomon Word International Education for helping bring this event to life.
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Scottish Chambers of Commerce Business Address 2025.
The event brought together over 650 business leaders to reflect on the challenges ahead and explore the opportunities shaping the future of Scottish business. Above all, it highlighted the power of collaboration in strengthening Scotland’s business community.
