Mallow Community National School is a multi-denominational, state run, mixed primary school in Mallow under the patronage of Cork Education and Training Board.
Last Friday, some of our 5th and 6th class boys proudly represented our school in the North Cork Primary Schools Soccer Competition. The boys showed fantastic team spirit, determination, and sportsmanship throughout. We are very proud of their effort and attitude. Well done! 👏⚽
🌌 Our 5th Class explored the magic of the Northern Lights!
They learned all about the aurora borealis and created stunning crepe-paper dye art inspired by its vibrant colours. The results are gorgeous!
✨ Fingers crossed we spot the aurora in Ireland again this year. ✨
✨ Our Wellbeing Committee has been spreading calm across the school! ✨
This week they launched our DEAR strategy, Drop Everything And Regulate. Simple tools like deep breaths, quick yoga, or fresh air to help us reset and refocus.
🌟 Huge well done to our fantastic committee!
Huge thanks to Mallow GAA for the generous donation of a set of hurleys.
These will be put to use during our weekly coaching sessions with the club's Games Promotion Officer, Niall.
Community spirit at its finest.

Maths came to life in Third Class today! Students created their own shops, complete with price tags, shopping lists, and even cashiers. 🧮🛍️
Hands-on activities like this help build real understanding of money, budgeting, and problem-solving and the children loved every minute!
A fun challenge for all the parents of children in Ms. Walsh’s second class: can you spot your child in their 3D portrait? We think they captured themselves incredibly well!
Winners!! 🥳🏆
We are thrilled to announce that our school has been selected as a winner of the Every Child a Reader Award with @KidsBooksIrel
Here’s to fostering a lifelong love of books! 📚✨

5th Class explored the beauty of nature through art. They created stunning paintings using the warm colours of Autumn. 🍂🍁 A reminder of the changing seasons and the importance of protecting our environment.
Today, we joined the world to mark #WorldFoodDay. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 aims to achieve zero hunger. We learned that food is a human right, not a privilege.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who helped us to mark such an important day.

Second class were tasked with a curious open ended question:
In the park there are 40 legs. What could be in the park?
Check out their fantastic maths modelling and problem solving using concrete materials.
Our first class pupils had a lovely time out and about on their nature walk! They spotted oak, sycamore, beech, birch and horse chestnut trees 🍁. They were fascinated by conkers, helicopter seeds, and acorns along the way! A perfect autumn adventure for our little explorers!
