Lest you be confused, birds are the most critical enemy. Hitchcock was a prophet whose message went gravely unheeded. “Birds aren’t real” was a psyop by CIA, McKinsey, private equity, Israel, the Colonel Sanders, and of course Big Bird to gaslight you into a consumerist hypnosis.
I am now obsessed with this company after seeing a product that looked cool but then being totally put off by the obviously ESL/AI ad copy. And now the more I see, the funnier it gets🧵…
Keep a small deterrent ready on your keys, bag, or outdoor pouch. This ultrasonic keychain is designed to help make nearby spaces less comfortable for unwanted birds and insects. Choose White, Black, or Yellow and order today.
But back to the birds, our primary enemy. Their use of the woke vernacular “space” is genius: A sphere that the target demo must “reclaim”. And Cleanlune (which now is sounding like a consumer retail division of Weyland Yutani) can help enable that safe space 🧵
@constans@politicalmath If that means Scandinavian style taxes, great. My impression is that the DSA are obsessed with taxing (and for some reason also simultaneously eliminating) billionaires as a class. Which strikes me as counterproductive for revenue unless the real point is assuaging class guilt.
@constans@politicalmath I’d rather structure taxes for optimal public service & welfare return than rely on a cohort of sanctimonious failsons/daughters LARPing as patricians. But I’m biased being an aspirational child of poor immigrant stock who just wants a nice car, big house, & expensive clothes.
@politicalmath@constans The point that he doesn’t grasp is “noblesse oblige” is the euphemism old money uses to justify its position that only those w/inherited wealth & family tradition of “public service” can be trusted w/riches since only they are enlightened enough to control society & hold wealth.
@a_russian_dandi@nlyonne I read him. I find the premise that “consumerism” (the horrifying idea we’re free to consume things/media a rich writer finds tacky) is equivalent to totalitarianism absurd. Esp. since he’s writing while the literal Soviet Union existed. No…I just think he’s objectively wrong.
Wop Genius™️ wisdom for today:
When I was in high school in north Jersey my dad was teaching me to drive on the highway.
He said, “Never drive slow in the far left lane. It’s worse than being a pedophile.”
