As part of the Dual TVET Awareness Campaign, today we kicked off a series of stakeholder dialogue sessions bringing together Head Teachers, Deputy Head Teachers in charge of Studies, Accountants from public, Government-aided and private TVET schools receiving training consumables, as well as District Directors of Education.
Running from 18–25 August 2026, the dialogue sessions began with participants from Nyaruguru, Nyamagabe, Rulindo and Gakenke, and will bring together stakeholders from across the country to strengthen understanding of Dual TVET, a training model that combines classroom learning with workplace-based practical experience to equip learners with industry-relevant skills and enhance their employability.
The sessions also provide a platform to discuss TVET quality improvement, training consumables management, co-curricular activities, and institutional performance and accountability.
Officially opening the dialogue, DG RTB @PUmukunzi emphasized that quality improvement must remain at the heart of TVET delivery, calling for clear objectives, strong accountability, adherence to laws, and greater ownership of responsibilities.
Today, we received medical equipment donated by @UNFPARwanda , with the support of @LUinKigali , under the #KuraNawe Programme, to strengthen the Kirehe TSS TVET Care Centre and its linked health facilities.
Established last year, the #KuraNawe Programme is a national initiative by UNFPA and its partners that aims to boost adolescent and youth development by integrating primary healthcare, including sexual and reproductive health, mental health support, gender equality and life skills into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Rwanda TVET Board (RTB), in partnership with the German Government through KfW Development Bank, is pleased to announce the continuation of the TVET Scholarship Programme.
Launched in 2023, the programme supports high-performing students from low-income households pursuing technical education at selected Technical Secondary Schools. Currently benefiting 2,787 students nationwide, the initiative aims to expand its reach to 4,000 beneficiaries by the 2026/2027 school year, strengthening equitable access to quality TVET and building Rwanda's skilled workforce.

Today, Rwanda TVET Board (RTB), in partnership with the International Labour Organization (@ilo ) and @SOLVIT_AFRICA as the implementing partner, hosted a High-Level Breakfast Meeting with leading technology industry stakeholders to officially launch the Quality Apprenticeship Pilot Program.
The program aims to strengthen the transition from school to employment by connecting Technical Secondary School graduates in Software Development with structured, high-quality apprenticeship opportunities. Through hands-on workplace learning, participants will gain practical experience, strengthen industry-relevant competencies, and enhance their employability in Rwanda's rapidly evolving digital economy.
Chaired by @RwandaICT, the meeting brought together senior representatives from government, the Private Sector Federation (PSF), @rwictchamber , development partners, and companies committed to hosting apprentices under the program.

Yesterday, RTB Deputy Director General @AgaBisengo and @KOICA_Rwanda Country Director Kim Jinhwa conducted a site visit to Rwanda Coding Academy to assess the progress of the ongoing construction works for the new campus.
After touring the site, they emphasized the need for the Contractor to expedite the remaining works to ensure the project is completed within the agreed timeline, noting that the project is nearing completion.
Today, the TVET Agri Open Days concluded at EFA Nyagahanga TSS, following yesterday's successful event at Kisaro TSS. The two-day engagement brought together key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and showcase the role of both schools in advancing agricultural skills development.
Conducted in partnership with Expertise France and funded by the European Union, the Open Days introduced to stakeholders the TVET-AGRI Ubuhinzi Skills+ Project, an initiative aimed at transforming Rwanda’s agri-TVET system through the establishment of Centres of Excellence that connect education, skills development, and employment in the agriculture sector.
Through this project, Kisaro TSS and EFA Nyagahanga TSS will be transformed into TVET Centres of Excellence in Agriculture, equipping youth and women with market-relevant skills, strengthening agricultural value chains, and contributing to local economic development.

This week, Muhororo TSS and Cyanika TSS hosted the second edition of the Student Entrepreneurship Competition under the AFTER II Project, with the support of @AFD_France and @LuxDev_HQ.
Out of 42 projects nurtured through 12 months of mentoring, 24 were awarded cash prizes and technical support to help transform their ideas into sustainable businesses.
The competition showcased students’ remarkable ability to turn classroom knowledge into innovative, real-world solutions that create jobs, drive entrepreneurship, and contribute to Rwanda’s economic development.
