What I observed over these past two years in Telugu film fandom is something deeply disturbing and honestly heartbreaking for anyone who genuinely loves cinema.

When Devara released in September 2024, the movie got mixed talk — second half criticism was loud, word of mouth was average, many called it a partial disappointment for a film of that scale and expectation. But you know what happened? NTR fans collectively decided that their hero's film WILL survive. They didn't go to Twitter to compare Devara with Ram Charan's last release. They didn't spend their energy dragging another hero. They stood like a wall behind Devara, kept the positives trending, pushed the theatrical run, and that film recovered significantly in the long run despite all the initial mixed noise. That is what real fan support looks like — unconditional, focused, and loyal to their OWN hero.

Now fast forward to June 2026. Peddi releases. Ram Charan delivers arguably one of the finest performances of his career — raw, physical, emotional, and completely immersive. Shiva Rajkumar himself said Charan deserves a National Award for this role. Critics clapped. Genuine audience members clapped. The first week talk was genuinely positive for Charan's performance even if the script had mixed opinions. So what did RC fans do with this golden moment? Instead of flooding Twitter with "Ram Charan is the best actor of his generation," instead of creating content around his performance, instead of sustaining the theatrical momentum — a massive chunk of the so-called fan base was busy fighting NTR fans about Devara's North America numbers vs Peddi's AP collections. They were tracking whether NTR tweeted about Peddi or not. They were fighting about who has the bigger fandom. Meanwhile, the film's collections started dropping sharply by week two, and no one was talking about Peddi — they were all talking about the NTR vs RC fan war itself. The opportunity to elevate a genuinely great performance was completely wasted.
This contrast tells you everything.

Devara — average content, maximum fan support = long run survival. Peddi — great performance, zero focused support = early fade out. The difference is not the hero. The difference is the FAN BEHAVIOR.

My sincere suggestion to every hero fan in Telugu states — your hero doesn't need you to destroy another hero. Your hero needs you to BUILD HIM UP. When your hero delivers a great performance like Charan did in Peddi, GO TALK ABOUT THAT. Create threads. Make content. Flood timelines with your hero's best scenes, best dialogues, best moments. When your hero's film has mixed talk like Devara did, STAND BEHIND IT with positivity, not aggression. Fan wars don't add a single rupee to the box office. Fan wars don't get your hero awards. Fan wars don't bring casual audience back to theatres. All fan wars do is make YOUR hero look bad through YOUR behavior. Telugu cinema has two of the finest actors of this generation in NTR and Ram Charan — and both of them deserve better than what their own fans are doing to them on social media every single day. Elevate your hero. That's the only job of a true fan. 🙏
