#8pm : #SelfEmployment
On a sunny day two girls came to me and requested some kind of employment. I asked them .. what is your skill ? They told me their education qualification.
I replied - this is not skill, this might give you a 3rd/4th grade job in a far away district. Then you will come to me requesting transfer and you will lose your independence and will suffer depression.
You do one thing , I told them, there is demands for bicycle mechanics , you manage training in a bicycle repairing shop and I will make a beautiful shop for you where you will earn a lot. They returned grimfaced. I thought they will not return to me again. But they surprised me by visiting my place few days later and declared .. We will do it sir , you just don’t forget your promise.
On my tour one day I saw the girls doing works in a cycle care shop . I felt so happy and stopped and asked the Senior mechanic about their interests , He said, these two are very serious on their works sir, they will learn quick. Soon people will see two energetic bicycle mechanics in our area.
Name of the shop will be

The Assam Tribune is NOT FOR SALE
Quite remarkable, really, how a single unverified Facebook post managed to become “breaking news” for so many people and media portals overnight.
Since May 24, claims about The Assam Tribune allegedly being sold to Gautam Adani for Rs 420 crores have been circulating widely, all stemming from one Facebook post by Gyanen Chakraborty. From there, the rumour was amplified by prominent personalities and even media outlets, many of whom apparently felt verification was an unnecessary formality.
No official confirmation. No credible source. No due diligence. Just pure confidence and a share button.
It took 88 years to build the trust and legacy of The Assam Tribune — from Radha Govinda Baruah to the current generation, the family has worked tirelessly for the people of the region, often at the cost of their own personal lives, to uphold the values and credibility of this institution.
For nearly nine decades, The Assam Tribune has remained committed to preserving the trust of its readers, and it will continue to do so in the years ahead.
In an era where everyone claims to value journalism and fact-checking, it’s fascinating to see how quickly baseless speculation can be repackaged as “news” simply because it trends online.
Maybe next time, before turning rumours into headlines and WhatsApp University into a newsroom, try verifying facts first. It might sound old-fashioned, but that’s usually how credible journalism works.
P.S. — Strict legal action will be initiated against anyone involved in creating, spreading, or amplifying such baseless and defamatory allegations.

For a lot of students, patients and officials travelling outside Assam, finding a meaningful accommodation has always been a teething issue.
That's why, we are renovating and building new Assam Bhawans in various States to cater to this matter.
The Assam government is set to integrate vertical gardens across 20 major flyovers and corridors in Guwahati as part of its efforts to strengthen the city’s green infrastructure and improve the "ease of living index".
The initiative aims to transform nearly 8,000 square metres of concrete structures into green spaces through vertical landscaping and ecosystem-based urban development.
“In this upcoming phase of modernization, 20 major flyovers and corridors will be systematically integrated with vertical gardens - turning 8,000 sqm of concrete structures into living ecosystems to foster a healthier, future-ready green capital,” the CMO posted on X.
