We are pleased to be featured among 12 select organisations in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) publication, ‘Reducing the Plastic Footprints of Products and Packaging’, released under the India–Norway Marine Pollution Initiative.
Our case study, ‘Design for Circularity’, showcases our technology-led approach to minimizing environmental impact across the flexible packaging value chain. The development of sustainable packaging films with high recycled content, supported by Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) assessments, along with the strategic down-gauging of laminates, contributes to reducing virgin plastic consumption, energy demand, and associated greenhouse gas emissions.
At the event, Dr. Manas Kumar Sarkar, Business HR Head and Sustainability Lead, Flexible Packaging Business, UFlex Limited, highlighted the recyclability potential of multi-layer plastics (MLPs) and emphasized the importance of effective recycling pathways for collected plastic waste.
The publication was released in the presence of His Excellency Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra; Shri R. Kesavan, Executive Director, RBI; and Dr. Balakrishna Pisupati, Head, UNEP India.
