I firmly believe that the upcoming general election in the next few months is the most important in our country's history to date. It's been 30 years of nationalist rule and as quickly as we moved forward in the early years, we have since taken many steps back by every conceivable measure. We need the masses to understand that we only get one chance every five years to hold ALL politicians to account for their actions!
Last week, I sat down with @mikesham10 from @SONAcoza and he echoed the thoughts I've been feeling for a long time, but he also added additional nuance to the topic.
✅ I urge all of you, not only to vote, but encourage others to get registered to do the same.
✅ I urge you to remind your fellow South Africans that we shouldn't support politicians the way we do our favourite sports teams.
✅ I urge you to remember that when political parties don't feel the consequences of their actions, they will continue to run riot because they are not incentivised to alter their behaviour in any way.
✅ I am touching on the topic of politics more in 2024 than ever before because I can't sit idly on the side and watch this country not live up to its full potential.
✅ You may not agree with every sentiment of mine or Mike, but it's so important that we engage in civil debate rather than sit in silence on the sidelines. It's these very discussions that move us closer toward a beautiful future, rather than accepting the status quo.
✅ As always, I'm open to discuss the varying opinions shared by others in a respectful way. I ask that you do the same. But whatever you do, DO NOT stay silent.
This guy right here is @RichMulholland and he's probably my favourite speaker in South Africa. If you've ever seen him present one of his keynotes on a stage, you will know why I'm so excited to announce that he will be the main keynote speaker at our first @SuitsSneakers event of the year 🥳
Spoiler alert: If you live in Joburg, the first 200 tickets are free if you want to see Rich in-person ❤️
For the last 6 years, I have kicked off every year by hosting an event called RISE. There is always a special and renewed energy that accompanies the start of a new year and we want to make sure that 2024 is your best yet!
RISE will be taking place on the evening of Tuesday, 30 January 2024 at The Tryst (Woodmead, Sandton). We will also be streaming the event on the night for those that aren't based in Joburg or South Africa.
You can book your tickets here: https://t.co/oQZe9neFrG
On the night, I will personally be quizzing some really smart people on the tips and tricks we can use to knock 2024 out of the park! This means I have a few more names to announce in the next few days.
PS. Please feel free to share this tweet along if you think anyone else should know about this awesome event 🥰

So delighted to be back on @Radio702 today, this time on the @TheRealClementM show talking about Balance ⚖️
QUESTION: How do you get better balance in our lives?
ANSWER: By being deliberate with where we’re placing our attention and energy. Focus on quality, not on quantity.
In this modern world, I feel like we don't take enough time to rest, to think, and to slow down so that we can speed up. October is notorious for people burning out because of the pace they've been going at since the beginning of the year. If you don't slow down, your body will do it for you 🧐
If you can, take some time this weekend to slow down. I can personally tell you that the last few weeks have just been insane and tonight I won't be moving from this couch.
Monday, the next road trip starts so I'm going to try take my own advice and slow the pace down. If you're feeling like me, I hope you do the same.
As they say, easy tiger. Thanks for listening to my TED talk 🤣
