@fleshsimulated A common trope in cartoons from when I was growing up was robots or machines taking over the role of the mc in some way. the moral was always that the mc was irreplaceable, even if less efficient. That moral stuck with a lot of us.
@fleshsimulated You're interpreting the wrong message. Nobody is saying all human art is good. nobody is saying stick figures are 10/10. Plenty of people just enjoy knowing what they're looking at was made by hand. We're social creatures most of us.
Taking the easy way out. I tried coding with ai years ago and it made me realize I could optimize all the fun out of my hobby. Much like the cheats console in any source game; it's more fun to pretend it isn't there.
@1secondKite ..Also the "we are charlie kirk" song. Neither are artistically interesting, both are liked for their ironic/absurd nature. I do think ai has some potential for generating absurd/abstract media, back when image generation was pure hallucination it was pretty cool.
@1secondKite using mr chedda as an example instead of Triple T is an absurd choice.
Tung Tung Tung Sahur is possibly the only example of something ai generated actually becoming a piece of pop culture.
@LexOFourteen I wasn't aware he was always like this, I thought he was just crashing out. I've listened to that audio book he wrote and recorded and it was good, it's disappointing to hear his painfully apathetic protagonist was probably just the only character he knew how to write.
@Solar_Sas I myself am a software developer more than an artist, I've dabbled in art.
As an appreciator of art however; I can confidently say that knowing how the sausage is made carries a lot of weight when it comes to art.
A marble statue is not impressive because it was easy to make.
@GuzzlingGustavo@DrinkBeerGuy5@Solar_Sas Who said anything about success?
When I die nobody will remember me for my career, but hopefully I'll have made things that outlast me.
The only way to achieve that is to not give up like the person I was replying to clearly has.
@Solar_Sas I can understand that, I just hope your post doesn't discourage anyone from trying. Human culture is being eaten alive right now, and the only way to hold onto it is to keep our passion for genuine creativity.
@KazeEmanuar@Jaiydanimate I would much rather have something cool shown and explained to me by someone who understands it.
I wouldn't want a developer commentary from a guy who heard it from the dev. I want to hear it *from the dev*
