It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking loss of another beloved member of the Tommy’s Place family. Ten-year-old Macy Mae Burgess has passed away after bravely fighting a serious illness.

Macy, along with her brother Daniel and her mother Marisa, stayed with us at Tommy’s Place in Centerville in July 2025. During her time here, she brought light, laughter, and so much joy to everyone she met.

She was born on May 8, 2015, in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and was deeply loved. She will be forever missed by her mother Marisa Burgess, her brother Daniel Burgess, and her many relatives and friends. She was also reunited in memory with her father, David Paul Burgess of Georgia.

Macy had a beautiful personality that showed in everything she did. She was a talented young artist who loved to express herself through creativity and imagination, always finding ways to make the world brighter. Pink was her favorite color, and it was always part of her world, just like her kindness and warmth. She loved designing and decorating small model houses with her best friend Lucy. She also loved baby goats, enjoyed music, cherished talks with her brother, and looked forward to summer beach trips with her family.

Even though her life was very short, she filled it with love, creativity, laughter, and kindness. She will be remembered for her big heart, her imagination, and the special little pieces of art she shared with the people she loved.

We will continue to stand with and support children like Macy, so they can still have comfort, joy, and happy moments even during very hard battles. Macy did not choose this fight, and she deserved the happy, carefree childhood every child should have.

Rest in peace, sweet Macy. May you be reunited with your friends from Tommy’s Place in a place where there is no more pain.

Deux semaines après la visite de Macron en Syrie, le massacre des Alaouites continue.

Emmanuel Macron a reçu Ahmed al-Charaa (Joulani) quelques semaines après le massacre de plus de 3 400 Alaouites par des milices djihadistes proches du nouveau pouvoir.

Peu après, ces mêmes milices ont massacré des Druzes.

Puis le président français s’est rendu à Damas, où il a signé le registre des visiteurs de la mosquée des Omeyyades.

Et aujourd’hui, les Alaouites continuent d’être assassinés.

Ces dernières heures, une mère et ses deux enfants de la famille Al-Khansa ont été abattus par des djihadistes dans le quartier de Sabil, à Homs.

À Homs, des Alaouites sont tués presque chaque jour par des djihadistes.

À quoi aura donc servi la visite de Macron, sinon à offrir une légitimité supplémentaire à ce pouvoir ?

Il pouvait soutenir la Syrie et son peuple. Il n’avait pas besoin de faire la promotion d’un régime issu du djihadisme, dont les milices continuent de tuer des minorités, d’enlever des femmes et d’imposer progressivement leur projet islamiste.

Vous portez une lourde responsabilité, Monsieur le Président.

Pardon, mais on ne parle pas assez de ces députés LFI (car il n’est pas le seul) qui volent au secours des violeurs en série de jeunes mineurs, arguant qu’ils sont soignables et qu’ils ont le droit comme tout un chacun de se réinsérer. J’étais assez naïve pour penser qu’après le drame Lyhanna, il y aurait au moins un consensus dans ce pays sur ce sujet. Je me trompais !
