In view of promoting the local, it says ‘Local Being Vocal’.  It's good to see that the government is focusing on Makhana and GI tag for it. As Makhan is Local Production in the majority of the Mithila region so GI tag should be “Mithila Makahan”

Makhan grows up in Madhubani, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Saharsa etc. districts. This is all Mithila region, how is the name Bihar in Makhan. Must be Mithila Makhan.

It can be noticed that in GI tagging the place of origin is given priority. its Magahi Pan not Bihari Pan. Its Shimla Mirch not Himachal Mirch, and so on. Then why not "Mithila Makhan"? Why Bihar Makhan ? it's just to sideline your local identity.
