On 2 July, a Russian missile struck their apartment on the top floor of a residential building in Kyiv during Russia's massive attack on the city. Liudmyla and Volodymyr were killed. Their son, Myron, was pulled from the rubble. He is now an orphan.

On 24 February 2022, Russia had already taken everything from them once when their home in Berdiansk was occupied, forcing them to leave with their elderly parents and start over in an unknown place. On 2 July 2026, Russia took the rest.

Myron is in the hospital after surgery. He suffered an open fracture of the shin and heel bones, a severe traumatic brain injury, a pelvic fracture, a compression fracture of the thoracic vertebrae, and significant blood loss. He is on strong painkillers.

И мне всё равно непонятно:
как ��ожно взять свою единственную жизнь - и поехать сдохнуть под Бахмутом?
Не за свой дом.
Не за своих детей.
Не за город, в который пришёл враг.
А за чужую ложь, чужую карту, чужую старость и чужой страх признать ошибку.
Сначала тебе объясняют одно.
Потом другое.
Потом НАТО.
Потом Донбасс.
Потом денацификация.
Потом санитарная зона.
Потом “нас вынудили”.

А человек кивает - и идёт умирать.
Вот это не “всё понятно”.
Можно объяснить бедность, страх, пропаганду, долги, регионы, мобилизацию.
Но всё равно остаётся главный вопрос:
как в человеке ломается точка, которая должна сказать:
моя жизнь не принадлежит телевизору.
Украина понятна: на неё напали, она защищается.
Мне непонятна Россия.
Страна, где человек может быть бедным, униженным, обманутым, использованным - и всё равно поехать умирать за тех, кто всё это с ним сделал.
