Last week, our Dad passed into our Lordโs presence.
He jokingly referred to himself as the 80% man, but in reality, he was the sort of the person who would run towards the fire; a man I trusted with my life.
It felt like this day would never come. 10 years ago today; 62 years after the last one. Finally, it was our turn for a flag!
Tears of joy then. Tears of thankfulness today for the memories made with Dad.
And as he said after the win, โthey can never take this away from usโ.
The fumes from this Prelim Final victory (and those glorious four weeks) have sustained me for a decade now. The blessing of sharing it with Dad will never, ever be lost on me.
Happy Anniversary to those who celebrate.
@Robynlloyd01@PrinceImp1877 ๐ฅน I love this story. It felt like we were floating on air, didnโt it? Dad and I floated over to the 40M mark where Jack kicked THAT goal. And some guys took some selfies with my Dad, thinking he was Mick Malthouse. So heโs in a heap of pics on a whole bunch of phones too ๐คฃ
@PrinceImp1877@SENSportsday Ditto. Dad and I floated back to the bus after standing for what felt like hours at THAT 40 metre mark, where Jack kicked THAT goal ๐ฅน Feels like yesterday.
Remembering the last time a big name nominated the Dogs above all others. And remembering what happened within a matter of months against all odds ๐
May this Butters appointment Boyd just as well for usโฆ
