Today I stood with workers and trade unions highlighting the importance of Sinn Féin’s Good Jobs Bill.
As workers and families continue to feel the pressure of the cost of living crisis, this legislation would improve pay, strengthen rights, and provide greater security and dignity at work.
All parties must work together to ensure the Bill, brought by Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald, is passed.
The Police Ombudsman must be free from political & British security service interference.
The DUP’s suggestion that “security service concerns” should dictate public appointments rather than a fair & robust process would amount to a British intelligence veto over policing & justice.
This would be an attack at the core of independent oversight. That is totally unacceptable.
It has been the honour of my life to represent Sinn Féin and serve the people of the Derg Ward and West Tyrone.
As both a councillor and an MLA, I have, through my office in Strabane, endeavoured without prejudice to serve all in the constituency.
In particular, I wish to acknowledge all who voted for me as a councillor and MLA, and gave me the opportunity to represent them, for which I am eternally grateful.

I have taken the decision not to attend this year’s St. Patrick’s Day events at the White House due to the situation in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
I deeply value the historic relationship between Ireland and the United States, and I remain committed to working with U.S. figures to strengthen our peace and grow our economy.
However, despite the hopes and promise offered by the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, horrific Israeli military attacks continue.
I cannot and will not look away from systematic human rights abuses and flagrant breaches of international law by Israel.
It is my responsibility as a political leader to stand firmly on the side of humanity.
Access to an ADHD diagnosis should be available to all, regardless of postcode or income.
Yesterday, the Assembly passed a Sinn Féin motion calling for the Health Minister to establish a dedicated ADHD diagnosis and support service.
