@JeffBezos It seems like the first portrayal on screen was by an American actor on tv 1954 Barry Nelson, George Lazenby was Australian, Pierce Brosnan was Irish, of course Connery, and the rest were British. So there is no break in tradition choosing from an international pool of actors.
