Elias Pettersson to the #LeafsForever?
TSN’s Mike Johnson says the #Canucks want to move his salary, and Toronto has the $30M cap space to make it happen. If Vancouver retains $3M, Pettersson could be the ultimate 2C for Toronto.

Can't believe this conversation is still going on...
DO NOT TRADE KNIES!
Unless you're talking about an elite 1D like Quinn Hughes or something...
DO NOT TRADE KNIES!!
#LeafsForever@MapleLeafs or whoever the hell we have to tag...
DO NOT TRADE MATTHEW KNIES!!!
Ngl, I think the Hiller hiring is actually very smart. A guy who knows the core players, the market, and has a great defensive system that works.
I bet he gets the best out of Matthews, Nylander and possibly Rielly. Just keep improving with FA and moves.
Beleaf. #LeafsForever
The Leafs' direction seems to be a bit more clear with the Woll trade.
A couple nice trades and a few big signings will get this team back. We still trust in Chayka and Sundin.
#LeafsForever
@JamesRJReeve Yeah, I can definitely see that. I do still like the Andrae addition. The more I think about it, the more I think this was actually a good trade for #LeafsForever.
Please try and help me see the light on this trade. I'm kinda struggling.
There's has be something more, right? Maybe flipping Ersson? Andrae is a nice add, but at the cost of Woll?
Help me out #LeafsForever
TRADE: We’ve acquired defenceman Emil Andrae, goaltender Samuel Ersson and a third-round selection in the 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for goaltender Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit
#LeafsForever need to be getting busy this offseason.
Big moves, small moves, and a few absolute sicko ideas to get Leaf Land losing their minds.
Chayka and Sundin, get to work fellas.
What’s stopping them? Hopefully the competence of Chayka and Sundin. Sorry Treliving, but you're an idiot.
Knies is not the guy you move just to recoup prospects and picks. That’s the type of player you keep, build around, and thank the hockey gods you actually drafted.
If Detroit wanted to completely reshape their team. Unrealistic, but maybe...

Anaheim's defensive logjam could open the door for Toronto to add their young puck-moving blueliner
Verbeek has the option to keep all the kids on the roster; he has them under contract or can match any offer sheet that gets brought to them as an RFA, but things might get interesting with there being not enough minutes and dollars to potentially go around:
“All these kids wanna play; Pat Verbeek can just say, I'm gonna keep you all, but...when you're that age you wanna play; it'll be interesting to see how Verbeek handles that.”
Now, they do have three free agent defensemen in Radko Gudas, Jacob Trouba, and John Carlson this offseason; however, they also have four other players hitting free agency this season as well, and six other players hitting restricted free agency, including one Cutter Gauthier.
With Anaheim set to see a team experience a potential massive amount of turnover, as well as players getting pay raises, it could see them part with one of their RFAs in hopes of signing other players and allocating assets elsewhere.
Now Anaheim has a boatload of cap space at this present moment. According to Puckpedia, $38.773 million in available cap space. But someone like Gauthier, Trouba, and Carlson could all see contracts nearing eight figures a season, and most certainly for the winger who had 41 goals last season.
This potentially works in the Leafs' favour, as Mintyukov is an RFA and could be someone the Ducks sell to afford other pieces of the roster and get some cheaper and potentially more affordable assets.
