✨️After the Final Battle✨️

The Dark Lord was dead. The blinding flash of the rebounded curse had faded, leaving behind a silence heavier than the rubble of Hogwarts.
Utterly drained, Harry Potter didn’t celebrate. He stumbled blindly through the choking dust, his entire being pulled toward the courtyard where he had left his heart.
He collapsed beside Dracaena Malfoid. The girl who had made his early years a living hell, only to become his fiercest ally and his deepest love, lay terrifyingly still. Her pale skin was bruised, her body rigid. Harry gathered her cold hand in his, pressing it against his chest as violent sobs tore from his throat. He lay down in the debris, curling himself around her to protect her from a battle that was already over. Exhaustion and unimaginable grief pulled him into darkness; his last waking memory was the agonizingly peaceful look on her face.
Hermione caught Ron by the arm as he started forward. "Let him grieve and rest," she whispered, her own voice breaking. "We owe him a moment of peace with her."
The victory of good over evil had extracted a devastating toll. The castle was in smoldering ruins; not a single statue was whole, not a classroom untouched. But stones could be stacked and walls rebuilt. The true cost was the fifty souls who had laid down their lives to stop Voldemort.
Despite the staff's protests, the surviving students refused to rest. They moved through the wreckage with solemn dignity, sorting the wounded from the fallen. Eventually, Ron stepped forward to pull his best friend from the rubble. He knelt beside Harry, reaching out to rouse him—but stopped.
Something about Dracaena’s stillness seemed off. Ron leaned in closer, tuning out the chaos of the courtyard the same way he tuned out Hermione during magic theory. He strained his ears, waiting.
A faint, ragged gasp. The shallowest, stuttering rise of a chest.
Ron’s eyes went wide. He vaulted to his feet, his voice tearing through the courtyard with all the air in his lungs: "Bloody Hell! Madam Pomfrey, we got a breather!"
...
Dracaena surfaced from the dark with a sharp, agonizing intake of breath.
She blinked against the muted light of the hospital wing. Her depth perception was entirely skewed; a weak touch to her face revealed thick bandages wrapping her head and covering her right eye. Surrounding her cot was a mountain of well-wishing letters, whimsical floating balloons, and a towering pile of Honeydukes sweets. Tucked securely against her bandaged arm was a plush Slytherin snake.
And resting heavily across her lap, his face buried deep in the blankets, was the love of her life. His hands were locked around her left hand in a desperate, white-knuckled grip, even in sleep.
"Pottah...?" her voice was a dry, broken rasp.
TO BE CONTINUED... SOON!
"I'm sorry Harry but it really is rather pointless to keep your relationship with Malfoid a secret. She screams like a banshee and the Headmaster gave you 10 gorganzillian points for "promoting interhouse unity". Professor Snape used a Silencing Charm on the Room of Requirement five times and we still heard you from the Astronomy Tower. The first years thought you were killing her-The rest of us knew better."
The reason Malfoid works so well is because people collectively realized how a simple gender swap, addition of a romance element and tsundere characteristics drastically alters the story of HP and opens so many potential doors.
Yeah a bratty blonde tsundere is hot but that's pretty common in fiction. I'm not against horny art of her but the OF cosplays and stuff are missing the entire point. If Malfoid was some random anime girl she wouldn't have caught on like this.
It's because of the sheer magnitude of change she brings to the story and how she so easily turns a universally unlikable character into one that can stand side by side with the protagonist. Harem elements diminish that because genderbent versions of those characters don't offer what she does.
